Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2003
I served this as a dessert while we were grilling out, and all my friends loved it.

Caramel Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2003
It did taste similar to a Twix bar, but the caramel just didn't set like I had hoped. It was delicious but very gooey...so gooey that it was messy. The plus is that my friends raved when they tried it.

Chocolate Caramel Nut Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
This was good. It tasted like regular cheesecake with a hint of caramel and some nuts.

Reese Cup Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
This had a good peanut butter-chocolate flavor, but it was not as chocolatey as I had expected.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
I didn't have any trouble making these cookies. They were very good. Not too sweet, and the only thing I did differently was to add two more minutes to the baking time at a temp of 325 F. UPDATE: I've tried this recipe so many times now, and I've found that this recipe works well with whole wheat flour too! I just use about 1/4 cup less of flour OR add 1/4 cup more butter. What a wonderful treat!

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
Not only nutritious but delicious too. I like my crust thin and crispy, so I baked my crust longer than stated in the recipe.

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2004
This isn't so much a cake but rather a sort of chewy bar. It wasn't well received at our camping retreat, and I don't think that I will be making this again.

Chinese Restaurant Almond Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2004
This was ok. It was a bit too soft for my liking, so I'll definitely up the baking time next go around. Good thing is that it wasn't overly sweet.

Sweet Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
My friends and family absolutely love these rolls. I've made these a few times already, and the only thing I changed was to add some brown sugar and cinnamon to the sweet potatoes. They're only slightly sweet, so it complements just about any main entree. Superb!

Golden Potato Soup

This was great! The only thing I did differently was topping off the soup with some chopped green onions. Very hearty soup!

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2004
I made this for a friend's birthday, and she absolutely loved it. I did have to make some alterations since I didn't have all the ingredients. I soured some milk with vinegar instead of using buttermilk, and I used all-purpose flour in lieu of the cake flour. All in all, it was still a very moist cake and very tasty.

Banana Split Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2004
This recipe is so yummy! I made it for a friend's birthday, and now I've been asked to make it for other people's birthdays!!! The only thing I'd adjust would be to double the confectioner's sugar/cream cheese mixture. This has such a refreshing taste that it's just perfect for warm weather. Heck, any weather!

Candy Bar Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2004
These were way too sweet for me, but all my friends seemed to like them a lot. They were very very very chewy, and they did taste like the Snickers candy. When I baked the brownies, I forgot to bake the first layer for 10 minutes, so I ended up placing the candy in between two layers of batter. However, my brownies weren't dry at all like some previous reviewers had mentioned, so maybe my mistake ended up being for the better. Also, like others had written, I took the brownies out of the oven after the exact baking time had elapsed, and they looked raw--jiggly in fact. But I let it cool to room temp, and the texture turned out chewy, not raw.

Cream Cheese Brownies III

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2004
These brownies were very good, and based on other reviews, I melted about 6oz of chocolate instead of 4oz to make it more chocolatey. Next time I think I will lay the cream cheese mixture last instead of plopping half the batter on top. The batter is so thin that the cream cheese pretty much sinks to the bottom of the brownies so I didn't get a pretty swirl design. But when it comes down to it, it is the taste that matters most.

Toll House Pie I

This was an ok pie. It was very sweet, and I like sweet! Also, I think that 1 cup of butter was way too much.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2004
I used 1/2 white flour and 1/2 whole wheat flour as well as egg substitute. It turned out great, but I didn't need to bake the bread for as long as the recipe called for.

Light Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2004
These tasted just like regular chocolate chip cookies. Mine didn't really turn out crispy at all, but they were soft and chewy. I added more chocolate chips, which probably canceled out the "light" part of the recipe, but they were great.

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2004
This cake was very moist. I was expecting it to have more of a brownie texture, but it's just a very chocolatey cake. It was very good anyhow.
