About this Cook
I learned to cook or at least how to approach cooking from my mother. We learned in phases. My first recipe box was filled with all straight forward by the book recipes. Once I mastered those I was graduated to the add a little of this, that, and the other to taste recipes. Now, when i want to make something, I've never tried before, I log on review 2-3 similar recipes & meld together what I like most about them once I see what the basic structure is.
My favorite things to cook
Italian foods were the first ones I got really good at & will always be among my favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It's not Christmas until I've made Christmas goodies!
My cooking triumphs
I knew I was in love when, in an effort to suprise my boyfriend with calamari, I was standing in the middle of an Asian market learning to clean a fresh squid from a man who didn't speak English. I have gone on to make Sushi & fried Calamari at home that is to die for!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
First let me clarify that I am new to slow cooking. I dug out a 4QT croc-pot I'd been given & have started to try to use it. It had bubbled all over my counter by the time I got home & there was no room left to push the biscuts down into the mix. I had to ladel some out & try to put the biscuts in that way... All in all though it was great the chicken was wonderful most of the biscuts got done, & when I invest in a larger slow-cooker I will definately try again!
