Swedish Meatballs III

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
I only used the "meatball" part of this recipe - I did not make or cook them in the dill sauce. I am a big fan of IKEA swedish meatballs and their gravy and lingon berry sauce. I buy the frozen meatballs and all other ingredients but I was out of the meatballs. Therefore, I just made the meatballs from this recipe and still served them with the same sides - they were awesome! My husband loved them! The only thing I'd have to say is that I definitely took them out of the oven a few times to suck up the fat in the pan and I placed them on a paper towel when done to try and eliminate some more, even though I used 85-15 meat. I also couldn't really taste any of the nutmeg or allspice seasonings - I couldn't tell they were there at all - I might use some more next time!

Mocha Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
Absolutely Delicious!!! I made this just as directed and served for dessert at a family get together - there was barely any left and what was left, was gone the next afternoon! I will make this again and again!

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Awesome burgers!! I made them with 80/20 ground beef, bread crumbs, 2% milk, and just the egg yolk as another user recommended. I also upped the worcestshire sauce and instead of using cayenne pepper and garlic, I used a tuscan garlic seasoning as well as McCormick's hamburger seasoning. They were sooooo good and extremely juicy! I will never come close to understanding the people who are saying that they taste like meatloaf - not at all! Thank you so much for the recipe! They were as good as my mom used to make :c)

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Absolutely delicious!! This is the best soup I have ever made! I added some ham along with the bacon and substituted one of the cans of cream corn with one can of regular whole kernel corn. I served it with biscuits and even my husband, who normally hates corn chowder, loved it and ate 3 bowls! It definitely made a lot and we were a little sick of it by the end of the week so next time, I will make this for company. Thank you so much for the recipe!!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
This was really delicious and rather easy. Since it didn't use milk, it wasn't runny at all and instead, very creamy. I brought it as a side dish on Christmas day and got rave reviews. I also added cheese on top as many others did. Will make again!
