Cut-Out Cookies in a Flower Pot

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
This is the 3rd time I made these. First was for Halloween cookies, the first batch was fine, easy to work with....That's my one problem, finding a cookie dough that's easy to work with. Alot of the time the dough turns out sticky and I get frustrated. But this one's good. But for my 2nd Halloween batch I used Imperial Margarine, not butter, and the dough was sticky and hard to work with, I had to keep putting it in the freezer.....Lesson learned always use butter when called for, I can't bee frugal and use margarine, doesn't work. Made this recipe again recently and freezed the dough till ready to use today for birthday cookies.....Easy to work with and taste great!!!!....I haven't even iced them yet!....My new keeper cookie cutout recipe!!!.... But will always use butter....thanks

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
doing my test run of cookies for x-mas before mailing them out. Made Mary's sugar cookies but never turned out like b4, dough turned out too sticky for my cutters so just rolled cookies for the family, but wanted to try different frosting. So far this is good, worried about have a shortening taste, but never happened, added some orange extract and tasted good. Love the consistency for frosting, better than sugar cookie icing(whenever i do this one its runny but does harden nice and bright) This kids tried some before totaly hardening and love em. Just seems to take awhile to harden, but wait and see. A beautiful bright white for my snowmen. Will use this year. Do need to add more shortening to blend.

first time making these cookies, trying to get a head start on my christmas cookies this year, doing test run before mailing them out, anyway the idea for these is great but are time consuming. Have to practice twisting the dough around i guess, but they did taste good, the kids loved them. Can look good plain or with the (i used peppermints) on them. Used the idea for brushing confectioner sugar with water on the to hold on the mints, worked ok. Will make again for gifts, just have to work on my

BREAKSTONE'S Triple Chocolate Bliss Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
made this for my son's bday 2day. cake itself was good and moist. Didn't have enought whip cream maybe that was it, but the frosting was super chocolately sweet, even for me, had to save it by adding strawberry icing had in cupboard. Mixed it well with the chocolate and saved the day! All in all was good. But didn't understand the starshaped wooded toothpick thing. Maybe figure that out later, but family liked it the birthday boy liked it and so did i, will make again

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
First time i every made green bean casserole. Checking out the cooking channels and sites, apparently its a main dish at Thanksgiving, so since we're having family over this year I did a test run this evening. It turned out wonderful I thought, since first time the family has had green bean casserole. Even my kids liked it and they all never like to try new things. Didn't use the soy, oppted for the cheese and was good. Will use this Thanksgiving and hope the extended family will enjoy it like we all did!
