World's Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
I was disappointed in this recipe. I made it according to the original recipe with suggestions of doubling the cornstarch, reducing the sugar to 1/3c and adding in celery seed. I thought this was still way too sugary and had to scrap it. I was not proud to serve this at our 4th of July cookout. I made it again without beating the egg and the sugar into a saucepan and it came out fine. Leave the sugar out of this and you got a great-tasting Potato Salad.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
These cookies are to die for! I have made them so many times over the last few years and everyone raves about them. I follow the recipe exactly how it is written but change things up with the pudding mix. I usually use 1 vanilla and 1 cheesecake instant pudding mix. You can also change the chocolate chips to M&Ms or Butterscotch or White Chocolate Chip to suite your tastebuds that day. And also, if you're baking more than sheet of cookies at a time, the cookies on the bottom rack will take the more ball-like form. So even though it might take longer, try to just use one rack. And make sure your butter isn't completely melted, it makes the batter too loose and the cookies will run together.

Most Amazing Challah

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
This was amazing! My fiance is jewish and he said that this was the best Challah he's ever had (and it was made by a gentile). I did cut the recipe in half and it still made two really large loaves. I also added in 2 teaspoons of Rosemary before mixing the flour - it really enhanced the sweetness of the bread. I will definitely be making this again!! Thank you Palsar7!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
These were absolutely delicious! I omitted the raisins as my family doesn't care for them and substituted chopped pecans for walnuts. This gives it a little sweeter taste. And don't be afraid of the pinepple (I didn't add too much juice, just 8oz of crushed pineapple) - but it really gives it a nice flavor!! Everything else I kept the same and made into cupcakes - took about 50 minutes to bake at 350. This recipe made two pans of cupcakes. Next time I will definitely make more because they were gone in no time. Thanks Brian for sharing your grandfather's' recipe. I will definitely make this again!!
