Pumpkin Roll I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
LOVE THIS RECIPIE! Super simple and easy! Works fine with self rising flour (just don't add the baking soda) and if your like me and have not quite mastered rolling it don't despair! You can just bake it like a regular cake, loaf, or cupcake and ice the tops with the yummy cream cheese topping. I use fresh pumpkin much better than the canned variety. I also recently tried a "healthy" breakfast version. I simply added shredded carrots, rasins, and chocolate chips (I know, there is a reason I put the word healthy in quotes). Just stir in the carrots then sprinkle the heavier ingerdients (chocolate chips, rasins, nuts, etc.) on top after you pour the mix in the pan. Otherwise the heavier ingredients will just sink to the bottom (Which is fine unless your planning on doing muffins or cupcakes).

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
I had never tried cabbage rolls but allrecipies emailed me this and it sounded so good and easy I had to try it. And I'm sure glad I did! It was easy to make (the most difficult part was fishing the hot leaves out of the boiling water I may try the freezing idea next time.) Here are the few tweeks I did: I hate onion so I went with onion powder I added garlic powder (my personal taste) My tomato sauce was in a 16oz can so I doubled the sauce (which I'm glad I did) I also added lemon pepper and garlic powder to the sauce And I only had regular ground beef so I reserved some of the sauce and when they were done I served them in a dish that would drain the grease off and put the reserved sauce on top. The results were great! I love recipes that leave room for the addition of personal taste. You can easily add other ingredients to make this your own personal dish.

Cucumber Lemonade

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
I HATE CUCUMBERS! I won't even eat a salad where they have once been (even picked out the flavor never leaves) But I do like pickels so I planted four cucumber plants in my garden. By harvest I was giving cucumbers away by the five gallon bucket full so I had to find something else to do with them. I was going to have a party so I looked up cucumber recipes to see if I could offload smoe that way. I made the lemonade and tried a sip. I told my husband it was different from anything I had ever tried and proceeded to continue preps for the party. I was surprised when I picked up my glass to discover in the process of preping I had drunk it all and now I love it. BTW it was a hit at the party too. Thanks so much for posting this recipe!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Never had brussels sprouts before and had always seen the typical shows of kids dipicting them as gross and disgusting. But my four year old saw them in a grocery store and said she wanted to try them. We try to encourage her to try new things and if she sees something she would like to try we get it. From common fruits and veggies to stuff we have never tried or in some cases even heard of if she asks we get them and try to learn how to eat them. So I bought half a pound and proceeded to hunt up a quick and easy recipe. I happened upon this one and the review to cut them in half and now I'm hooked. My whole family loves them! I can never make enough and there are never leftovers! Even if you hate brussels sprouts I would reccomend giving this a try! I hate mushy veggies a toothless person could eat. So I always take mine out when they are just getting tender but still have a little curnch to them. Great recipe! Thanks so much for sharing it!

Pizza Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
Better than the real thing! Thanks HOTNSPICY for the baking directions. They may turn out better when fried but with the BCS tonight it was nice to make a bunch and toss them into the oven as needed. Hope to make more next time with a variety of toppings.

You can achieve this appearance on top of cookies, cakes, even a pan of jello (subsitute cool whip for cream cheese.) It's a hit at any 4th celebration!

Peanut Butter Carrot Cookies

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
awsome cookie! especially when you make it your own! did add flour to keep from crumbling and cut cooking down to 12min but I like chewy cookies. I added raisins and cinnamon to mine just because that's what I felt like. Plan to try different flavors later (pineapple and cocconut for tropical, apples or peaches for fruity, etc.) Thanks for posting such an easy and modifiable recipe!

Cube Steak Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
Pure deliciousness! Though I did follow the reccomendations of baking in sauce and I used bread (I was out of crackers) and I made my own version of sauce. But it's really hard to find different ways of serving min steak and this was great! Will deffinetly do it again!

Snow Ice Cream II

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
I've never heard it called Snow Ice Cream. Where I'm from (N Alabama/ S Tennessee) we always called it Snow Cream. I love making this everytime it snows (which isn't often) I did discover this year we had a dry powdery snow and it would just not cream, it either stayed powdery and refuse to blend or it would give up and melt. If your like me and usually miss when it starts snowing, I just take my bowl and take the top layer of snow off walls and car hoods where I can see nothing has disturbed the snow. Down here where snow is rare snow cream is one of the few things that make snow in the south extra special. P. S. Mayfield Ice Cream company now makes a really close store bought version of this for those of you wanting to try it and either having germ issues or just no snow.

Hamburger Skillet Supper

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Excellent recipe! I did as others suggested and used cream of mushroom for 1 cup of water and since it didn't reccomend a flavor I used beef. I also was out of frozen vegies but drained canned worked. A great recipe for when you have nothing and want it to look and taste like something. I plan on trying different ideas with this recipe like using chicken ramen and chicken breast and cream of chicken. This is deffinetely going into my short list (recipes I use the most).

Spaghetti Pizza I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Great recipe! I didn't have all the ingredients and it still turned out great! It's a great meal to make when you don't have much and don't want spagetti AGAIN! I had to use Italian seasoning instead of just the particular herbs you mentioned and I had to use cheddar instead of mozzerella. But as I said it still came out great my husband and 1 year old girl loved it. This was the first meal she actually asked for seconds on.
