I made these today. I did not have a double boiler, fondue pot or any such thing. I took my big soup pot and filled it a few inches deep with water, took my smaller soup pot and put it inside with the ingredients. The chocolate and shortening melted fast and did not burn, was nice and smooth. I grabbed a hold of the strawberry leaves, dipped away and placed them on wax paper. Within a couple hours they were set. Some of them while they were still hot I sprinkled coconut on them, that was good and pretty. I used store brand semi sweet mini chocolate chips in a 12 oz bag. Will make these again since I have leftover chocolate, or maybe use it for pretzels.
