About this Cook
I enjoy doing research on the computer, whether it is a new recipe or planning a day trip for friends and coworkers. I plan 3 or 4 day trips for my family and friends annually. It must be interesting and inexpensive. Usually there is some food component like a farmers' market, candy factory tour or bulk food store in part of the trip. Also my friend says there must be an element of learning in the day.

Other than the Thanksgiving turkey and pop (beer) can chicken in the summer, I am not sure we have a lot of "traditions". I am too busy trying out new recipes on my family to have a lot of solid tradions!

The Mighty Chicken Stuff
I omitted the chips and added sautéed onions and mushrooms to the other ingredients. This made a very tasty soup this way. I will try it as a casserole the next time..

Curried Couscous Salad with Bacon
this was very good and simple to make. I used some fresh asparagus instead of the cucumber, because that is what I had in the frig. It was good at room temp. and would be good chilled. Very colorful! A little bacon adds a whole lot of flavor, so please don't omit the bacon.

Butterscotch Bread Pudding
This was very good. I read several reviews before making this. I cut the brown sugar in half and even though I enjoy sweet desserts I found that to be plenty. Because several people mentioned that this seemed "wet", I only used 3 cups of milk. I cooked this on high for 3 hours in my crock pot. Maybe because the crock pot uses a lid, the pudding turned out really moist and tasty with only 3 cups of milk. My bread was very dry before assembling this so I don't think I would ever need more milk. Because of changing the amounts of sugar and milk, I rate this a 4. Will definitely make this again. My bread was multigrain/wheat and we still enjoyed this.
