About this Cook
A stay at home mom expecting my third child. My oldest is 3. Love cooking from scratch and have taken an interest in Kombucha brewing. always looking for fun, easy recipes that will be healthy for my quickly growing family.
My favorite things to cook
I make no bake pumpkin cheese cake each year. This year I added pumpkin rolls to my list of things i like to make. another family favorite is a rice greek stuffing for turkey. yum yum.
My favorite family cooking traditions
throwing pasta at the wall to see if its done. intend to teach that one to daughter. also ... feeding everyone who comes over, even if they're not hungry. that is what my great grandma use to do. I loved her for it.
My cooking triumphs
hmmm: things my husband asks for include: tunafish cassorole plantain bread (made with the banana banana bread recipe from this site) Greek stuffing eggnog pumpkin rolls when he is sick my raw veggie/garlic soup.
My cooking tragedies
everything is a learning experience. didnt like shark when i cooked that. very bad. i didnt do a good job with breadfruit either, though that i WILL try again. its good when fixed right. never had an easy time with eggplant

Baked Salmon II
we enjoyed this recipe. I did end up doubling the garlic and didnt noticed. Also used dry parsley instead of fresh. the flavor was herbal with a touch of lemon.. we found it mild and complementary to the salmon. we served with brown rice and Brussels sprouts mixed with turkey bacon. Also a spinach side salad. very very good!!! a keeper.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies
I've made these a few times. They are generally a hit in our house and don't last very long. I usually follow the exact recipe. cake like, but great.

Make-Ahead Slow Cooker Beef Stew
mixed thoughts. I was very excited to have a bowl and discovered that i didn't think it was that great. Kinda bland. I ended up adding butter, hot sauce and salt to my little bowl. We ate it for dinner the next night. It tasted great on the second day, totally different stew. I didn't add anything to it the next day because it tasted great. My husband thinks this is a 3 star. I think 4. might not be making again though. disclaimer, I had no smoked paprika so I used regular.. i wonder if that makes the difference??
