About this Cook
I am a married mother of 2 girls, one teenager, the other a pre-schooler. I like to share love through my cooking. Aside from potlucks and parties I cook primarily low-fat and low sugar, but always yummy. My husband jokes that I know 1000 different ways to make chicken.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to make are muffins. They are one of my comfort foods. I also love an amazing casserole and anything Mexican.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I taught my teenager how to make my grandmother's Easter Ham. It is messy sticky work but we love making it every season. Plus we have to restrain ourselves from eating the entire thing when its done! My youngest is still in the pour-and-stir ingredients stage, but she is doing remarkably well with cracking eggs without any shell pieces.
My cooking triumphs
Making churros with my oldest for a school project. We don't have a deep fryer so we just used a somewhat heavy pan on the stovetop. We melted a spatula and started a small fire but when it was over we had the most amazing light and sweet churros ever, with a ton of laughs sprinkled on top.

Tea Biscuits
I only thing I did differently was change the shortening to butter and they came out excellent! Definitely a keeper!

Honey Wheat Bread II
This came out amazing! I also substituted a cup of wheat flour for one cup of the white and it came out with the great bread texture. I used 1/4 c honey and 1/4 c agave nectar and it still was perfect. I am making it again this morning!

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese
I made this for the first time for my daughter's birthday party and it was a huge hit! My friend that was helping me added some seasoned bread crumbs (made from wheat potato bread) to the top about halfway through cooking. Fantastic!
