Libby's® Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
Believe the hype--this thing is so good. It tastes like a very rich pumpkin pie. I didn't use the sour cream frosting and glad I didn't. I did add an extra 1/2 tsp each of nutmeg and cinnamon to spice it up, and followed the "How to Bake A Cheesecake" to the letter and it came out so good. Key points: Use room temp cream cheese. Use a water bath (wrap the bottom of your cheesecake in aluminum foil so water does not seep into pan and then place in a cookie sheet. Pour water in cookie sheet and watch the level the entire time you cook and add as necessary), and after the cheesecake is done baking according to the time here, turn off oven and leave in oven for 1 hr.

Barbeque Halibut Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
Absolutely phenomenal. As I was eating, I asked my husband "Where has halibut been all of my life?". Following suggestions of others, I doubled the sauce for dipping. The grill ran out of propane just as I put the fish on, so I ended up baking it--so good. But don't get me wrong, I will be making this one on the grill next time because I am sure it will make this recipe ten star!

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
Very good recipe. After reviewing other ratings, I omitted salt and wine and just used 2 cups whipping cream, 2 tsp of Old Bay seasoning, 2 cloves garlic and 1 tsp of cayenne pepper--would NOT use cayenne again, or would do 1/2 tsp (for a kick)or 1/4 tsp (for a little heat). It was wayyy too spicy, and my husband (who likes hot food) said it was really spicy. If it weren't for the cayenne (still blowing my nose), it would be a 5 star recipe.

Good for You Greek Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
This salad was excellent. I thought to myself that I was silly for following a recipe for a salad (just throw veggies in a bowl!!), but so glad I did. I really get sick of lettuce based salads, so this fit the bill perfectly. I used, by accident, way more olives than the recipe called for, but my husband and I love olives so it was perfect mistake. I will make this again, most definitely.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
My SVP decided one day to have a cook-off to win an I-Pod. I made this recipe, a first time Key Lime pie for me. I made my own Graham Cracker crust and homemade whipped cream which I spread on top of the pie. All judges commented on how this was the BEST Key Lime Pie they'd ever had, and I won, over very stiff competition. Every comment said the texture and taste were the absolute best. Don't buy from a store ever again--just whip up this super easy pie!

This is a delicious recipe--it is good for the winter months and for anyone who has to work during the day. After I made this, my husband said that this was his new favorite meal. Thanks for a great recipe!

Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I am assuming I did something incorrect based on previous recipes, but this was just terrible. So terrible in fact I felt compeled to write my first review ever on Allrecipes. I did a test batch before I gave it out as holiday gifts. Not sure where I went wrong. Glad I tested it out before giving it to friends and family.

Chinese Cabbage Salad I

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
This is a great recipe for pot lucks or to bring along to parties. Everytime I bring it I am asked for the recipe and am complemented on the authentic Asian flavor. I use Mann's Broccoli Coleslaw bag, olive oil and red wine vinegar instead, and don't use the cashews. I made it once with toasted almonds but usually just leave them out. I once made this dish with regular vegetable oil because I was out of olive oil and my coworkers tasted the difference--it was way too oily tasting. Good recipe to fall back on!
