My husband use to do all the cooking, but now that we have a beautiful little girl in our life, he is in charge of bathtime and the bedtime routine most nights so i have to step up to the plate (ha!) and put dinner on the table. i'm a pretty decent baker, but my dinner making skills are paltry.
My favorite things to cook
super easy but flavorful dishes. i do make a mean turkey chili.

i don't have any but would like to start some with our little lady.
My cooking triumphs
Chocolate Burbon Pecan Pie that was neither too runny nor too dry that i made for Thanksgiving last year. My friends and husband are still talking about it. :)
My cooking tragedies
the latest? last week when i tried to make a lentil and sausage dish in the slow cooker. not sure what i did wrong, but the lentils were 'al dente' and there was little to no flavor. we ate it, but ended up pitching the leftovers...

New Orleans Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
too chocolatey - didn't really taste like a pecan pie. i even reduced the chocolate to 1/2 c and used bittersweet. there was a good bourbon flavor but i used 4 tbsp as per a suggestion. other people liked this, but i did not.

Sweet Potato Pie I
i think i too like pumpkin more although everyone at the party i went to enjoyed the pie. i added flour as per a lot of people's suggestions and i thought that made it taste dry.

Fried Corn with Smoked Sausage
quite yummy, but needed more sausage! i would also cook it in olive oil next time as opposed to butter.
