Vanilla Wafer Cookies That Are Better Than Storebought

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
They turned out alright. They spread quite a bit more than I expected.

Slow Cooker Chicken Marrakesh

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
I cooked this recipe as written and served it over couscous. We loved it! I didn't add any extra broth, as other reviewers have suggested, and it had plenty of liquid.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I quadrupled the recipe and it was a HUGE hit at a party we had last winter. We had bleu cheese crumbles available to put on the sandwiches as well. I'm making another large batch again this Halloween and calling it Dragon Meat.

Dutch Apple Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
I used this recipe to make mini tarts in mini muffin cups. They were fantastic! I just diced the apples into very fine pieces. I only needed about 2/3 of the filling and it baked for about 12 minutes (though I did put it under the broiler to bring more color and crunch to the topping). It made 48 tarts.

Himalayan Chai Tea

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This turned out beautifully! I like the spice combination and the fact that it uses ground spices which are readily available and infuse quickly. Once it had steeped, I strained out a most of the spice residue with a fine mesh strainer. I am considering making up batch sized tea bags of the dry ingredients as party favors or office gifts.

Amish Slaw

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
I've been making this for years. It's a great loaded into a pita with some sliced ham or all on its own! (For those who find it too liquidy--I drain off excess juice prior to serving and it's a great marinade for pork or chicken.)

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
These are easy and amazing. The version of the recipe I often use has graham crackers so those work as well. These never fail to wow people despite their simplicity. They make great gifts.

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This was absolutely amazing! Everyone loved this bread and it was the first to disappear from holiday trays, including chocolate-dipped cookies! I froze the loaves and took them out as needed. The tops of the thawed loaves were a little gooey so I pressed them into turbinado sugar and this gave a lovely crunch to the tops of the slices. Perfect, just perfect!

Gingerbread Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
This was great and perfectly spiced. My Italian grandmother could NOT get enough of these at Christmas! I ended up giving her all of the double batch I baked to freeze. I baked mini biscotti by making it into 4 thinner loaves that I sliced and toasted as usual. The smaller size is great for inclusion on holiday cookie trays.

The whole family loved these! I had no problems with them at all. Semisweet is the perfect chocolate chip in these.

JELL-O® Pastel Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
My family like these cookies. We really like their texture--soft but not greasy, firm but not tough. The kids like to decorate them using food color markers because they hold-up well.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
These are fantastic! I don't usually coat them in oil and instead spray the dish with oil each time, lay out the potatoes, and then lightly spray the tops with oil before cooking.
