Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
I like them and a lot of others did, but it seems a little tasteless

Lemon Bars I

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
Really fantastic recipe. I actually did the following: used white sugar instead of confectioners' sugar for the base and only baked crust for 15 minutes and then added an extra large tablespoon of lemon juice. In addition, if you want to use a rectangular pan rather than a square one, just make the recipe 1.5 times the amount. It works really well. Everything came out perfect and I even made homemade lemonade. Lovely, lovely recipe.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Awesome, awesome cookies: An alternative: make homemade Peanut Butter Cup Cookies by making the cookies smaller, using a vanilla frosting between two cookies to sandwich them together. Then cover the top with a melted semi-sweet baking chocolate. Let cool. They are considered the best cookies in the world at my fiance's university!

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I made this recipe exactly as it stands. Using only my fingers and hands. When I poured the milk and sour cream in, I barely worked the dough. It was just wet, but not smooth or anything. With floured hands, I put them into balls and made them into large scones. Absolutely perfect. Didn't use any freezer or anything, but I think this also depends on what time of year you make this, as it's cold and in winter. I had the butter only lightly softened at room temp. Perfect. Serve with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Awesome. I used butter with a little bit of margarine for it and the rest was the same. This is quite possibly one of the best cookie recipes ever!!! Easy to make, crunchy by soft and perfect. Not too sweet either. Do make it! It will make lots of people smile!

Black Cat Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I liked this, but it was a little bit annoying that you had to refrigerate them throughout the whole process in order for them to keep their shape. Took a lot of trial and error to stop it from losing the cat shape. Maybe less butter next time.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Brilliant cake to make. Completely moist and tasty. The problem people have with this is that making a cake is an art and you really have to watch the directions carefully. Several tips: Let the cocoa mix with hot water be completely cool before using it. Actually SIFT the flour, soda, powder and salt (if you don't have a sifter, use a tablespoon and sift over and over again. Make sure that the mixture is light and fluffy when mixing (such as the sugar with the butter) and it should be fluffy throughout until the end, when it becomes a batter at the end. I took the advice as well that the cake sticks - use the old method of buttering pans liberally and then sprinkle plain flour on the bottom so it comes out clean. Beautiful recipe. A real joy to make.

Absolutely Sinful Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Really good and brilliant. Everyone keeps asking what I put in it. Just make sure that you put in the right amounts of dry ingredients, otherwise it may be too runny. I used regular milk chocolate rather unsweetened, which was better, and actually used 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup with 3 TB of white sugar instead.
