This is my second sugar cookie recipe to try. I added an additional cup of sugar and doubled the vanilla (last recipe i tried was very similar to this and they tasted more like biscuits than cookies). The recipe itself left my dough very sticky even though I let it sit in the refrigerator for hours. I ended up having to take chunks of the dough at at time and add more flour while rolling. I also added more sugar to keep it from getting too floury and bland. After working with the dough for a while i was able to get it to a good consistency to where I could cut my shapes and they would not stick. Before placing the cookies in the oven i sprinkled them with sugar and made sure to remove them from the oven when I saw any golden edges. The taste isn't bland and the cookie has a softer inside vs being hard as a rock. I didn't have any problems with the cookies growing at all (I used a bikini set cookie cutter so i could make bra/panty cookies for a lingerie shower).
