Real Sopapillas

These came out great! I don't have a deep fryer, so I used a cast iron skillet and heated up the oil on medium-low heat. I sprinkled sugar and cinnamon on them while they were hot and they tasted great!!!

Grandma's Favorite Chicken

This recipe is very practical all you need are the chicken legs and what ever vegetables you want. I used carrots, green bell pepper, green onions, onions, and potatoes. I served it with rice!

Spinach Salad with Peaches and Pecans

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
Great salad! I have never made a salad with fruit or nuts in it, and this salad was awesome! I didn't have poppy seed salad dressing, so I used creamy Caesar dressing. Everything worked out great!

Great recipe! Exactly what I wanted to achieve in my kitchen. We served it over spaghetti noodles and a tomato spaghetti sauce!

Good recipe, it did the trick. I am not the best rice cooker, and my rice came out mushy.

Absolute Best Liver and Onions

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
This was a great liver recipe. It was simple and the directions were easy to follow. One tip I read elsewhere is to make sure the membrane is cut off and cut 1/8th inch slits every inch near the side, so the liver wont curl up.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
Me and my fiancé have prepared this meal twice and have absolutely enjoyed it. This is about as authentic as you can get. We followed the recipe exactly and added salt to taste. Also to thicken up the bean juice I press my beans against the side of the pan toward the end. For my personal taste, I add a little hot sauce and ketchup to taste when eating. Cook this meal and enjoy!!!!
