Ghirardelli® Individual Chocolate Lava Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
I found this recipe in an ad in one of my magazines. I've made it many times, and my guests always ask for the recipe. It's wonderful and comes out great every time. I like spreading a little raspberry sauce around the bottom of the plate to make a nice presentation and add a little something extra to the taste. I've even made the batter ahead of time, put it in the individual dishes, and then refrigerated it for several days. Pop it in the oven and they still come out great!

Zucchini Spread

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
Mygarden produced a ton of zucchini this year, so I've been trying to find new ways to use it. I tried this recipe without much hope since I'm not a big mayonnaise fan, and I didn't think it would be very flavorful without many ingredients. I have to say, though, I really liked it! I would definitely cut WAY back on the salt as others have recommended, but otherwise it's great as is.

Chipotle Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
I have spent years trying to find a homemade macaroni and cheese recipe that has some flavor to it. I finally found it! My husband raved about this during dinner and the next day too!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
I'm not generally a carrot cake fan, but this was wonderful! Very moist and flavorful. The only change that I made was to bake it in 2 round 9" pans to make it into a layer cake.

Crab Quiche I

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Loved this! I made this as directed but with 2 cans of lump white crab meat since others said more crab was better. It was wonderful! It was so quick and easy to make, and tasted delicious. We had some for dinner one night, and the following day we had the leftovers for brunch.

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
This is very much like my favorite lemon poppy seed bread recipe that I've misplaced. I added 1 1/2 tsp of almond extract to the bread mix and 1/2 tsp to the glaze. Just like I remembered, very flavorful!

Sausage Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
My 5 year old gave this recipe a 10 thumbs up, and my 6 year old asked for 4 helpings! This was so easy to make, that the sauce was ready by the time I had the noodles cooked. To save time on a busy day, I mixed the noodles and sauce together and put them in a casserole dish, then put it in the oven with the delay timer on and it was ready for us when we got home. Some of the reviewers said it was bland, some even mention the 'kielbasa'. I can only think that they used the wrong sausage. This actually calls for a roll of breakfast sausage, it if you use what it calls for it's amazingly flavorful!

Pooter's Wine Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
I won't be making this too often, only because it's too addictive! It was so good that I would sneak a bite every time I walked by it.

Clove Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
My whole family loves this cake. I made as directed except with less cloves because I didn't have enough. I poured it into two small bundt pans and ate one right away and froze the other. Both ended up great! Very moist, very tasty! My kids have already asked me to make another!

Cucumber Sunomono

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
I have always made cucumbers with a mayonnaise and vinegar sauce. I tried this for a little variety, and I don't think I'll ever go back to my old recipe. This was wonderful, so tasty and summery. I'm a big fan of ginger, so I made it just like the recipe said. As some others have suggested, I may add some carrot next time just for some added color.

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Wonderful recipe. I've made it both for my family and for guests and received compliments both times. I was worried that the tortilla shells might make it a little chewy, but they soften up so much that thye become like cooked pasta. Next time I'm going to add some black olives to the top too.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Very flavorful recipe, I did find though that mine turned out a little dry. Because I cooked it as stated in the recipe (which took MUCH longer than stated and mine was only 8lbs) by the time it had sat out for a few minutes with the temperature still rising it was overcooked. I would recommend taking it out at a slightly lower temp.

Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
I made this for Thanksgiving dinner since my sister-in-law had asked me to bring some type of acorn squash dish. It was great, everyone complimented me on it. The apples added a nice touch. To cook the squash I cut it in half, baked them in the oven with some brown sugar and butter, and when it had soften and cooled, I was able to scoop the squash right out of the skin.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Truly a great lasagna recipe, I love the sauce, very authentic tasting. I like the recipe even better when I use cottage cheese instead of ricotta, and use the no boil noodles, but boil them ahead of time (wierd, I know).

Grilled Cheeseburger Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
I really liked this, but the rest of my family gave it a 'so-so' only because of the ketchup-based sauce. all of the toppings were great, but I think they would have like it better with more of a typical pizza sauce.

German Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
Amazingly good! Like others I didn't peel the potatoes, and I added kielbasa, and it was so good! I brought it to my book club and got rave reviews, and served the leftovers to the family the next day and got the same!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
As soon as I saw this recipe I made it, and as soon as I finished them I ate them! The only negative that I have to say is that these are too good to be called scones! I think of scones as a bit dry and hard, and these are so soft and moist.
