Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
This will be my new apple pie recipe. I used the recommendations from another user by adding spices. (I also used less butter.) The taste of this pie was outstanding, especially as compared to my old recipe. (My old recipe just had spices and sugar mixed with the apples.) Thank you for this recipe!

Anise Biscotti

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I was pretty happy with this recipe. It was the first time I made biscotti. I probably would add more anise seed and maybe some more anise extract. I really love the flavor. I halved the amount of brandy, but next time I would feel more confident with more.

Aunt Mary's Banana-Chocolate Chip Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
Very happy with this recipe! I did what another reviewer said, added one banana, cut the sugar to a 1/2 cup, and used butter instead of shortening. If you are looking for less of a sugary taste, try that combination. Thankyou! God Bless!

Slow Cooker Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
Really fabulous!! I took another reviewer's advice and added a taco seasoning , (my own mixture), to the meat while browning in the frying pan. I also used onion and garlic during that time too! I added more enchilada sauce as someone suggested. I didn't have to cook it in the slow cooker for the full 5 hours. My corn bread seemed to set way before then. It was delicous and there weren't many leftovers!!

Mushroom Lentil Barley Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I thought this was great! I did what some of the other reviewers did. I had to make substitutions for the ingredients I didn't have. I used 1/2 onion, other types of mushrooms, and added rosemary, thyme, and sage. I also added carrots and at the end added spinach as did some other of the reviewers. Really happy how it turned out! Thank you!!

Parmesan Dill Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
Very tasty! I agree with the other reviewers. I had to take away some liquid. Also, I signficantly reduced the Parmesan. I would probably reduce it further next time I make it. It was a nice taste for a change!

Pretty good! It went over well. I used my own recipe for cream of chicken instead of canned.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
This was quick and easy and delicious. I reduced the sour cream and butter because my dessert that night was heavy. (I also was able to subsitute the corn bread mix with corn meal. I added baking soda/baking powder because it wasn't a mix.) Really great recipe! Thank you!

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I am like many who loved this recipe, but changed it a little. I used less bouillon and made my own cream of chicken base. I also omitted the garlic and celery salt because the bouillon made it plenty favorful. Really loved it! Very comforting! Thank you!
