Me and my Husband
About this Cook
I have been married 5 years now, June will make it 6. When I first got married I knew almost nothing about cooking, I mean I could barley make spaghetti, now if I set my mind to it I can make almost anything I try.. I moved 12+ hours from my family to live near my husbands, yes I miss some of the things my mom makes, but I feel that my cooking has more flavors. I moved from South Carolina, originally from Pennsylvania, to Louisiana, so yeah I am going to learn all about flavors ! I'm waiting for the day when we have our own house and I'm out of a kitchen that just is to small to let me cook the things I want, I mean I only have one counter in which I can do anything. I keep telling my husband i want a kitchen where I can wear a cute apron, make delicious dinners, and deserts everyday!
My favorite things to cook
Cupcakes, cakes, soup. Anything new that isn't to crazy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my mom, aunts and grandmother made so many cookies, every hike I'd go to one of their houses they always had cookies. Now that I live so far from home, she still makes me my favorite Christmas cookies and mails them to me, though the mail man manages to break most and I am left with a bunch of crumbs, I make a bunch of cookies for my husband and myself!
My cooking triumphs
I made fondant bows! I had some fondant left over from my sister in law's polka dot cake, so I made cupcakes and put bows on top of each. They were super cute!
My cooking tragedies
I was once baking a layer cake, and when I went to remove 1 of the cakes from the pan it just split into a bunch of pieces. It was no longer a layer cake, just a round cake... I was baking some BBQ chicken and forgot about it, when I opened the oven it was black and I had to throw the dish away with the burnt food.

Apple Dumpling Cake
This is so delicious! I made a small pan the first time. So, 2 days later I made it again and just doubled it. I just used a variety of apples to mix it up a bit, and sprinkled cinnamon sugar on the apples before I poured on the batter, and even topped the batter with more cinnamon sugar before putting it in the oven. This is so good, it is a keeper for sure!

Easy Chicken Fajita Soup
This was really good!! Could have used a little more heat and spice though, but still tasty, my picky husband said it was definately a keeper!
