Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Fudge

This is my go to fudge recipe. It turns out better for me than the stovetop versions. It doesn't get that grainy texture that fudge sometimes gets. I think the trick is to stir it a couple of times during cooking and don't overcook it. As soon as its melted, pull it out. I also line my pan with greased heavy duty foil (that's all I buy anymore), for easy cleanup. Everyone asks me to make my fudge every year, so I'd say the recipe is awesome!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

This crust came out hard for me. Admittedly, I am a novice pie crust maker, but I followed all the instructions...keeping everything cold and not overworking the dough. I don't know what I did wrong??? I did use butter instead of shortening (per some of the reviews), maybe that makes a difference.

Black Magic Cake

This cake in amazing! Moist and chocolaty. I used a 9x13 glass baking dish and it took 35 minutes. I topped it with the creamy chocolate frosting from this site and it's one of the best cakes I've ever tasted! Even my husband, who is really good about staying away from sweets has been nibbling on it.

Hot Water Pie Crust II

This recipe turned out fantastically...tender and flaky! I've had nothing but trouble with cold pie crust recipes so I was excited to try this recipe. I did end up refrigerating the dough before handling it and I rolled it out between sheets of saran wrap. So easy and so tasty! This is now my go to recipe for pie crust.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

This is an easy recipe that is a go to for me when I have a pound of ground beef to use up. I love the gravy over mashed potatoes so I double it so there's plenty.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

This recipe was awesome...easy to make and it turned out perfectly. I was looking for a whipped cream frosting that wouldn't slide off the cake at room temp and this recipe did not disappoint! BTW- I followed the recipe without changing a thing.

Banana Muffins II

This was an easy way to use up my browning bananas before hitting the store! They were delicious and moist. I did sub 1/4 cup of the white sugar with brown and added a tsp of vanilla. I used a 12 muffin non-stick pan and it only took 22 min. My 17 year old daughter loved them.

Apple Cake IV

This was just OK. 4 eggs is a bit much and you can def taste them, (which I didn't like). And what's with beating the eggs and sugar for 15 minutes? I did do it, but I'm really not sure why...All in all it wasn't a total waste because my family will still eat it.

Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

This was so easy to make. I had some Gala Apples to use up, so I thought the sour cream would balance out the sweetness of the apples. Boy was I right! Turned out deliciously.

Spaghetti Pie II

This recipe is a fun spin on spaghetti night. It's a versatile recipe that's easy to adjust with what you have on hand. I've made it from scratch and from leftovers. I've added the cottage cheese and left it out. It's seems to turn out tasty no matter what I do.

Low Fat Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

Good as a base recipe. I ended up adding more garlic and onion powder. I also used about a tablespoon each of the fresh chives and parsley. I didn't have fresh dill, so I used 1 teaspoon of dried. It was pretty good, but I think next time I'll use less parsley and more chives.
