I used the juice of one lemon instead of the lemon extract and although it came out beautifully, it didn't taste as good as it looked. I think the buttermilk just didn't give it a good aroma, like Sara Lee's or other recipes which didn't use buttermilk. I think I'll stick to the regular pound cake recipe.

Gramma Bertha's Banana Cake

I really like this recipe and urge you guys to try it, but I cut down the sugar by a little since I don't like my cakes to be too sweet. Stick to the recipe closely and it will turn out fine. I tried to make it a second time and used 4 bananas instead of 3 and a little too much sour cream. It turned out really soft and wet, and it was just a pity!

Dinah's Baked Scallops

My kid doesn't like seafood or anything that comes in shells so it's hard getting him to like this, much less eat it. But I love the scallops prepared this way, just one problem. The drizzling sauce calls for too much liquid - butter and white wine - and it made the crumbs too soggy. I would cut the liquid in half to get a more crispy crumb. Perhaps I did it wrong, anyone had the same problem? It was wonderful otherwise!

Honey's Butter Cake

This butter cake got a lot of praise from my boyfriend and his son. They just loved it but I think the recipe calls for too much sugar. I cut it down to about 2.5 cups and still think that's too much!! I think the next time, I'll try making it with slightly less than 2 cups...

International Pancakes

Although the batter is easy to make, the pancake itself is definitely hard to get flat and even on all sides. I tried to spread the batter by swirling the pan but it still didn't come out right. I think I'll stick to IHOP for my pancakes!!

New York Cheesecake I

This is by far the easiest and most tasty cheesecake on the site, thanks to Eleanor for sharing it. I like cheesecakes to use 2 or 3 packages of cream cheese, not 2 pounds!!

The Greatest Banana Bread

This banana bread tastes funny, it's too moist. I have never tasted banana bread this moist, too moist for my liking. Doesn't even taste like banana bread, more like a wet dessert.

Best Cream of Potato Soup

The recipe is complicated, yet doesn't yield the expected results. I was looking forward to a creamy soup but it wasn't creamy at all. Maybe, you should have used half and half or heavy cream in the recipe. In my opinion, this soup would go well with some bacon in it, which is what I did when I had some and the taste wasn't to my liking.
