Root Beer Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
pretty good but was missing something to give it more root beer flavor without getting bitter. If you're wanting a very subtle root beer flavor, this recipe is perfect as written.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
I did not care for this recipe. Didn't rise at all. I followed the recipe to a T...I don't know what went wrong but I won't be trying this one again.

Taco Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
I've made this recipe for years but usually double it for when we have company and I just let it go in the crock pot (after browning the meat of course) on low. It's great served over corn chips. I always set out shredded cheese, sour cream, fresh diced tomato and avocado slices so people can garnish as they like.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
Just great! I have used this recipe a lot and have no idea why I haven't just made a huge jar of it to keep in the spice cabinet. I use taco seasoning a lot and this is much better than the stuff you get in the packets.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
I gave this two stars because yes, it did make a fondant but after trying again and again, I cannot get this recipe to be anything other than greasy and it tears so easily that it's not worth the trouble to even make it.

Ranch Chicken Tacos

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
Very good! We used green chili instead of regular salsa, flour tortillas and excluded the onions (because I forgot) My husband loved the Ranch sauce and so did I.

Tipsy Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This recipe was GREAT! I ended up using more beer than called for because I used a craft beer and it was too early to be drinking. HA! I used 24 ounces of beer in the end. I also just used a package of legs and thighs that I already had instead of a whole bird and left this brine going for two days because we had things come up. It was big hit with the family so I'll be making it again.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
I made this using homemade cream of chicken soup instead of that gloppy canned stuff and they were wonderful.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
Very tasty and perfect consistency. I had 36 jumbo cupcakes so I quadrupled the recipe with no problem. If you're piping, I suggest making a double batch to have enough.

Zesty Chicken Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly and I was so pleased with the results. My husband loves meatloaf and was hesitant about a chicken meatloaf but one bite was all it took to turn his frown upside down. My toddler and preschooler gobbled this up too, which made it a real winner in my book.

Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
I had some buttermilk leftover from another recipe and decided to give this a shot. WOW! I've never had syrup this good (I'm not a maple lover) my family just loved having hot homemade syrup with our weekend pancakes. I had about half of it left over so I put it in a jar and kept it in the fridge and 4 days later it was still just as good. Just pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds and you're good to go.

Southwestern Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
I didn't have green pepper on hand so I just omitted it from the recipe but it still turned out great! I will be making this as a side dish more often.

Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
I have made these several times for my family and it's a wonderful pancake. I don't like pancakes that are basically huge sponges, these absorbed enough syrup without my kids wants to have more and more syrup added. Also if you want to make this the night before and keep it in the fridge for less prep the next morning it goes great straight from the fridge to the griddle.

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
These were good but nothing special, I may try marinating the chops first and then using this breading method but over all there was nothing that actually made the meat very memorable it was just a flavored crust around an under-seasoned pork chop.
