Old-Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
This is a great pancake recipe, I have tried a couple of others on this site and this one is my favorite. The batter was a little thick and because I was adding blueberries and chocolate chips I added 1/4 cup of tonic water to thin it out, this gave the pancakes a very light texture, so good.

Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
This cake is amazing, seriously. Was a breeze to put together, so simple but the flavor was awesome. I loved the cinnamon!! It had a very tender moist crumb that was light but dense at the same time. I topped mine with a chocolate cream cheese frosting that complimented the buttermilk and the chocolate in the recipe. Will make again with maybe some melted semi sweet chocolate thrown in to enhance the chocolate flavor.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
Made mine with a few adjustments based on past reviews; doubled the batch, used 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 a cup of white sugar, 1/2 a cup of flour and a bag semi-sweet chocolate chunks. Tasted like a deconstructed Reese's Cup. Co-workers loved them and they really hit the spot during that 3pm slump.

Rice Balls a la Tim

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
This is an easy, filling, tasty recipe. I added half a finally diced onion and portobello mushroom cap. I will try Italian sausage to perk up the flavor a bit and maybe some hot sauce, I like things a little more spicy. Thanks for the recipe.

Albondigas

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Made tonight for my sick 3 year old. He's not a big fan of soup but loves meatballs so I thought it would be a good way to get some soothing broth in him. Added pieces of ginger, garlic and spinach as well as salt and pepper to the broth. Finely diced half a shallot and cilantro adding them to the meatball mixture before forming. The soup is very good my son loved it!

Ultimate Green Beans

Fabulous, easy, excellent recipe. Followed it to a T minus the lemon cause I didn't have any. Initially thought it might be a little spicy but it was perfect. Did reduce the butter with little flavor consequence.

Carrot Cupcakes with White Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
These are so easy and awesome, made these for my birthday party and received so many compliments. I used the pre-shredded carrots cause I was short on time and they still tasted great. The frosting really makes the cupcake, it's also good on pumpkin muffins.

Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage-Brown Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
Great recipe! As others have said easy to create but super impressive to guests. Not sure why people had a difficult time with the wonton wrappers staying intact, even the ones my 3 year old made held tight, smile. Will add mushroom and maybe some finally diced Vidalia onion next time for texture and flavor.

Chocolate Brownies

Great basic recipe. Use this as a foundation to create wonderful mixtures. I added chunks of bittersweet chocolate to heighten the chocolate flavor. The hint of peanut butter was good.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
This cake is wonderful, a chocolate lovers dream. It is the perfect party dessert, you make the day ahead, feeds at least 16 and very impressive! I used a bag of Giradelli bittersweet (11.5oz) and a small bag of Nestle (6oz)semi-sweet I would have liked it a tad sweeter so i may do half and half but it is still amazing. Next time I will try 3 egg yolks just to lighten up the recipe a bit and use the Grand Mariner in place of water.
