My Family
Drunken Chicken
Life is too short to eat bad food!
About this Cook
American cook living in the UK desperately in need of some recipes that use seasoning! But I do have a wonderful helper in the kitchen named Mia and she makes everything taste better. :)
My favorite things to cook
Egg Fried Rice and Drunken Chicken
My favorite family cooking traditions
Filipino foods or anything with a lot of spice to it - Indian, Thai, etc.
My cooking triumphs
I make the best egg fried rice and roasted chicken in the world (or at least my husband and Mia say so)!!
My cooking tragedies
I can not make a good beef stew - no idea why??!! Note - I figured it out!! I will post my recipe with shin beef soon... husband said it was just like his Mum's :)

Slow Drunk Roasted Chicken
Making it again tomorrow night - my husband loves it and it makes great sandwiches too. IMPORTANT NOTE... I have tried this recipe with different lager's and it makes a BIG difference in the taste. You need to use a lager with "bite" too it - if you can not find FostersĀ® then the green bottles usually work and are easier to find in the supermarket.

Proper English Cottage Pie
I really liked this and I personally felt it needed more spice... but my husband loved it (and he is a Brit with aversion to black pepper). I used Bisto instead of beef broth - which thickened it perfectly and they freeze really well.
