About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I used to just say I love to cook and hated baking, however now I love both. My new favorite thing is cakes. I took a cake decorating class but got more into the baking aspect of it and am now the go to person for any occasion in my family for a cake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite cooking tradition would be for my boyfriend's birthday. Every year I fix the same thing. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
My cooking triumphs
Probably my cakes, people seem to love them. So far I have done a black forest, itallian cream, and just chocolate with chocolate frosting. I have been eyeing some of the recipes for fourless cakes and think I may try one of them next time. My new triumph. I did a cheesecake this Thanksgiving. First time doing a "real" cheesecake. It was so awesome! I did the cheesecake supreme on this site and would reccomend it to anyone. It was so good.
My cooking tragedies
Um...Well one christmas I tried a creamed spinach recipe, and remember sneaking a taste before anyone else could try it, and yelling nobody eat the spinach...We all laughed. It seems like that happens to someone at every get together. I suppose we all like to try new things and sometimes they are a flop.

Beer Spice Cake
I don't like spice cake, and I was asked to make one for my aunt's birthday. This cake was light airy, it was sooooooo good. I would make it again for myself even though I don't like spice cake. It make a lover out of me.

Chef John's Classic Beef Stroganoff
This was so so so so good. The only thing I did different was to skip noodles and serve over mashed potatoes using chef john's recipe and it was so darn good. Comfort food at its best. Will def be making this one again.
