I've been fighting this sinus/chest cold for over a month off and on. Two rounds of antibiotics helped a bit, but this little thing does more to clear out my sinuses than anything else has.1 cup tomato juice or Hot and Spicy V81 clove garlic, smashed and chopped finesquirt of Sriracha… MORE

About this Cook
I have an awesome husband, a beautiful five-year-old daughter, and a somewhat frustrating job. Cooking is my release. I look forward all day long to getting home and making dinner.
My favorite things to cook
Risotto, soup, sauces. I kinda like mastering all that French stuff.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I cook, Kevin bakes. We love runny eggs and toast soldiers on Sunday mornings, pumpkin risotto in the fall, Guinness cake any time.
My cooking triumphs
Julia Child's cheese soufflé.
My cooking tragedies
Chicken Stewed in Ale. It will take a blog post to describe this debacle.

Creamy Ham and Beans
I added some diced green peppers and some cooked rattlesnake meat and this was a big hit. Everyone wanted seconds and even thirds!

Delicious Cranberry Sauce
I'm making this now and tasting as I go along. It's easy, quick, delicious. I added a pinch of salt and some lemon juice to tone down the sweetness a bit. Tossed a couple of cinnamon sticks in, too.

Juicy Deer and Bacon Burgers
I made these burgers tonight and my husband and I both loved them. I didn't have much ground beef so I used mostly venison. I added some Spike seasoning to the meat mixture as well as some Worcestershire sauce and beer. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. I'll definitely make these again.
