Ruby French Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
Easy to make and very yummy! I made 1/2 batch for my friend (I didn't want to waste a bottle of the store-bought stuff) but I also enjoyed it. Why buy bottled when you can make your own and do it better1 Thanks for the recipe!

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
This was an easy and YUMMY recipe. A few things I did: I couldn't find mild Italian links so I used 1/2 lb/package of bulk Italian sausage (we like a little more meat in our pasta sauce :) ). Also, added 1/4 cup of vodka, a little more cream, and some basil. This one's a keeper, IMO. Thanks for sharing and thanks to a friend of mine who mentioned this recipe on Facebook. :)

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
A very good, basic recipe...very similar to the one found in the "Joy of Cooking". I liked the touch of cinnamon, which was not in the "JofC" book. I cut down on the oats (2 and 1/2 cups) in favor of a 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. Thanks for sharing :)

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Thank you, Gayle! I grew up with and LOVED my Grandma's basic dressing/stuffing recipe. However, since she cooked by memory, we wrote down the ingredients but not the measurements. However....and thankfully so....your recipe was very much like hers, complete with measurements. And I made the "oven version". THANK YOU....my dressing turned out just like my Grandma's! :) :) ps...I've tinkered with the recipe, since then. I cut down on the celery (about 2 stalks), the sage, and just dried-out then ripped up one loaf of white bread. However, I'm still VERY grateful to you Gayle because this recipe (which I bake, BTW) is just like my Grandma's. Thank you for reviving the wonderful memories. :)

Roast Beef and Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
Good recipe...the beef was tender and full of flavor. I dumped in some extra gravy before serving (believe if or not, a container of leftover KFC gravy!) which thickened the sauce.

Paprika Chicken with Sour Cream Gravy

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
I like this recipe...it's yummy, creamy, and easy. I prefer using chicken tenderloins in a lot of my chicken recipes (about 2 tenderloins= 1 breast). IMO, they're more tender and easier to cook. I like to bread my chicken...dredge in egg, flour/paprika, etc mixture then let cook for a while in the sauce. Good with noodles, IMO :)

Creamy Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
Loved this recipe.!!!!!! I took naples34102's advice and baked at 350o for 15-20 minutes...until set. I slathered whipped topping on top and garnished with berries before serving. This is a keeper...thanks!

Baked Cod

Reviewed: May 11, 2012
My Mom and I really enjoyed this recipe. It's light, it's healthy, but it's also yummy. I used a 1/4 cup of bread crumbs, added some lemon pepper, and some garlic salt, and baked the filets for about 16-17 minutes. Thank you for this recipe. Just because we're dieting doesn't mean we have to "DIE" doing it. This was a tasty and rather gourmet meal which didn't cause our pants to snap! :) :)

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
We had leftover Stroganoff from Thanksgiving (yes, Thanksgiving! :)) and I "jazzed" them up a bit using the golden mushroom soup, a packet of onion soup mix, and some Worstershire sauce....very yummy! Thanks for the tips! :) (also, Greek yogurt makes a nice alternate for sour cream)

Creamy Dill Salmon Steaks

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I cut back on the dill....I'm a "taste while I cook" person, anyway. I also threw in some scallops and perch because I was low on salmon. Milk works just as well, also. We really liked this recipe and it's good with angel hair pasta. If you think there's too much dill, just do what I do...."taste and test" as you go along. I like any kind of recipe which you can play around with...and this was one. Good with other kinds of fish, like I said. Thanks for sharing! ps...I added a little more wine....of course, I was definitely "tasting" as I cooked, LOL :)

Oven-Fried Catfish

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I really like this recipe....and so do my parents. It's easy to make and yummy. My Dad likes it with mac and cheese (I just do a simple Velveeta/butter/milk sauce) and a veggie....peas or corn. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I've been using chicken tenderloins more and more, as opposed to breasts. IMO, easier to cut and more tender after cooking. Try adding kalamari olives and sliced grape/cherry tomatoes (add when you do the capers). I also turned the heat on low and let everything simmer for 10-20 minutes. One thing: double the cream...I use 1 cup and you get more sauce. Very tasty with angel hair pasta. I had a similar recipe (with the olives/tomatoes) in a slow cooker (minus the cream) but this is easier and quicker to make.

Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
Easy to make and yummy to eat. I used both parmesan and mozzerella cheeses in this recipe. I like the "servings calculation" feature at this website. Also, you can adjust some of the ingredients to suit your taste. Try it with a vodka creme sauce.

Sour Cream Chicken and Stuffing

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
Overall, VERY yummy! We just got finished with supper and enjoyed it very much. I didn't have any Cream of Celery soup, so I substituted a can of Cream of Mushroom. Also used chicken tenderloins and Stove Top Chicken Stuffing We had leftovers and I noticed that some of the dressing was still dry. I may either prepare the stuffing mix as directed or mix the stuffing with some water, before putting it on top of the chicken (as per other suggestions) I also added about 1/2-3/4 cup of milk to the soup mixture. Overall...very tasty and a keeper. Thanks for posting and for the helpful comments!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Also, try substituting a can of golden mushroom for one of the creams. Using a combination of beef broth and red wine (in place of the water) wouldn't hurt, either, IMO ;)
