Thank you, Gayle! I grew up with and LOVED my Grandma's basic dressing/stuffing recipe. However, since she cooked by memory, we wrote down the ingredients but not the measurements. However....and thankfully so....your recipe was very much like hers, complete with measurements. And I made the "oven version". THANK YOU....my dressing turned out just like my Grandma's! :) :)
ps...I've tinkered with the recipe, since then. I cut down on the celery (about 2 stalks), the sage, and just dried-out then ripped up one loaf of white bread. However, I'm still VERY grateful to you Gayle because this recipe (which I bake, BTW) is just like my Grandma's. Thank you for reviving the wonderful memories. :)
