Tuscan Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
this was ok, but the olive oil wasn't a good taste after it was grilled. i normally use a tasteless oil (canola or veg.) and let the other flavors come through, not the oil. ok but i'll use my marinade next time

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
i'm giving this 2 stars because the patties were good. I did not care for the gravy (i doubled it like everyone said). i followed it exactly and then doctored it up. it still was not great.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
this is how i make my guac. only i use tabasco sauce and a minced jalapeno. you can also use lemon juice if you don't have lime. the acid is what keeps the avocado green, not so much for the taste.

Pot Roast in Foil

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
i made this for sunday dinner. i used a chuck roast ( it was on sale), i used a 15oz can of beef broth for the water and 2 cans of cream o' mushroom with the onion soup packet. i sliced 2 cloves of garlic and make slits in the meat and poked it in then splashed some worchester sauce over it. i mixed the liquids and poured it over the whole thing then scattered a sliced onion over all. i covered the whole thing with foil and it was delicious! the meat was fall apart tender. great recipe even with my slight modifications. this is my only way to cook pot roast from now on.

Creamy Chicken Marsala Fettuccine

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
this was good. it seemed like it was missing something though, maybe salt? it also did not have that nice wine-y marsala-y taste. maybe it needed more or maybe it was my wine i don't know. anyway my bf really liked it.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
i was looking for a new roast chicken recipe and decided to try this one. boy am i glad i did! the chicken turned out lovely and golden and tasted wonderful! my neice wanted a snack and sat down and ate both legs. she said it was the best chicken i ever made. i also made gravy with the drippings. i didn't use all the butter only 1 1/2T. and it was fine. i reccommend this to anyone. simple and delicious.

Delicious Easy Chicken Francese

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
the sauce to this was good but thin. i too used more corn starch. my problem with this is i used thin sliced cutlets and just about cooked them through, but when i took them out of the oven they were not done all the way. i covered the dish with foil and cranked the heat to 375 and cooked it 15 min. more. by that time i wasn't in the mood to eat it and my bf took the whole thing home. he loved it though and i served it to him over bow ties. i might try this again i don't know.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
my sister showed me this recipe but she makes it even easier. no butter just the parm, lemon(we use lime) juice and garlic powder. sprinkle the fish with the garlic powder, make a paste of the cheese and juice and spread it on the fish. then bake at 350 for 8 min. delicious!!

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
this is one of the best recipes ever!!!! i made this on a snow day without having to go to the store for anything. i used 1% milk and it still came out creamy and chocolaty and delicious! just whisk until you can't whisk anymore and it will be creamy, no lumps and won't " break" in the fridge. i can't say enough about this pudding except TRY IT!

this is a lovely recipe. i used cream of mushroom soup and par cooked the noodles(not angel hair), added some worchestershire, a dash of tabasco and 1/2 C. white wine and used imitation crab (8 oz.). mixed it all together in a big bowl with some of the cheese and put it in a 9x13 pan with foil and baked for 30 min. then uncovered and sprinkled french's fried onions for 10 more min. great dinner and next day lunch!!

Creamy Chicken on Linguine

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
this was very good, i used shrimp instead of chicken and i put the cooked pasta in the pan with the sauce to really soak it. the sauce wasn't as thick as i like so i let the whole thing sit in the pan for a couple minutes and it was fine. quick and tasty!

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
this is an ok soup. i found it to be lacking something. i used velveeta not cheddar and maybe that was the problem. it needs a little zing as it's quite bland. i used tabasco sauce (a few dashes) but it didn't help. i was really hoping to like this but i don't think i'll make it again.

Tangy Shrimp and Scallops

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
this marinade was ok. i think the worchestershire sauce makes it. remember! don't leave the shrimp and scallops marinate too long or you will have ceviche unless that is what you're going for. the lemon juice cooks the fish. when you cook it it turns to rubber because you're cooking it twice. don't make my mistake.
