Island Kielbasa in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
This was so delicious! I usually fry kielbasa so I was looking for something different. It does make a lot of sauce and is very sweet, I used 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar and next time will only use 1 cup. I just made more rice for the extra sauce! The kielbasa is so tender and goes great with the pineapple. I served it over rice but next time will try to think of something else to add to it like a veggie. It's just kielbasa and pineapple, something added to the mix would make it even better. Thanks for sharing this easy, delicious recipe! :)

Easy Corn Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
I always prepare this for the holidays for my family. This is the first time I tried the recipe with packaged corn bread and my family wasn't as partial to it. It takes the pudding like consistency from the dish. The taste was decent but just not an overall favorite.

Easy Fiesta Kielbasa

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
I make this often for my family and they love it! The meat is so tender and the tomatoes and black eyed peas give it a zip and make it a little spicey. Every time I make it I wish there were leftovers and there isn't...

Sweet Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
YUM! It has a lot of sugar and isn't a light and fluffy recipe bc of the sweet potatoes but it is very yummy! Thanks for sharing!!

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
This was a really good recipe....I used marshmallows in the recipe and on top. It was a hit with my family. I couldn't taste the orange juice and was a little confused on the pinch of cinnamon and how big the sweet potatoes were supposed to be so I used 5 big potatoes and just basically dumped the cinnamon. It made a large casserole sized dish ful (the long glass dish)l. It was yummy and not overly sweet. This is the first time I have used marshmallows on top instead of the cruncy sweet topping and it was a great alternative. I would recommend this and use it again.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
I made this recipe as is with the exception of the suggestion of using chicken broth instead of water. I used one can of biscuits and quartered each biscuit. The gravy is very yummy. I also added carrots to give it a little something more. The broth was soupy and the biscuits did absorb a lot but not near as much as I thought. I didn't measure the broth when I added it...I just added it to make sure there would be extra gravy. I served over rice and I think it may have taken away from the meal. I only added salt and pepper. I will make again but might try other variations. I would recommend trying this over something besides rice.

pam's...Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
We are having a cookie party at work so I made these to test them out before hand to see if they were work worthy. :) I am very impressed! They are super yummy. When they cooled I didn't have cream cheese frosting to drizzle so I used confectioners sugar mixed with a little water. Overall the recipe (I think bc of the jam) was really sweet. I refridgerated the bars and had another before bedtime and it seemed to mesh a little better. When I first pressed the mixture into the pan it was hard to press bc it was sticky and that worried me some. I added more mixture which allowed it to be easy to press into the pan. Next time I will refridgerate them before trying to cut them...I think they will come out in a cleaner looking bar. Overall my family loved these and I will be making them to take to the cookie party at work. I also wouldn't mind trying a different cake mix flavor and jam flavor just to change things up. Thanks for the recipe!

Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
I made this with a chuck roast instead of a prime rib, since my grocer didn't have a prime rib. I used everything else as is but instead of cooking in the oven, I used the crock pot thinking this would be just as good as marinating the meat. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as flavorful as I was hoping. The meat didn't need the olive oil and ended up diluting the marinade I think. Next time I will definitely allow it to marinade and not use the oil.
