Awesome!! My little 2 year old helped me make these (very easy) and entered them in the fair. She won a Reserved Sweepstakes ribbon on them!! They are wonderful. Nice and light and fluffy. I did add a bit more cheese because I love cheese. WOW!!!

Shortbread Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2003
These cookies are good, but not quite what I was looking for. I was hoping for a recipe more like the Girl Scout cookies. They are my favorite! Although this is the best shortbread cookie recipe I have found this far. My little sister came over just after I took these out of the oven and took nearly the whole batch home with her! She couldnt stop eating them and saying how wonderfull they were while she was at my house.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2003
This is the best homemade sauce I have ever had! It is also much better than anything you can get in the store, but then again, it is homemade. I left out the green pepper, because I didnt have any on hand, and used only diced tomatoes, because once again, that was all I had. I also left out the sugar all together and added a can of tomato sauce (I dont care for the taste of tomato paste), 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes and a pinch of baking soda to take out some of the acidity, which ends up turning the acid to sugar and makes it taste a bit sweeter so it doesnt need the sugar after all! Wonderfull recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2003
These are SO good! I would give them 6 stars if I could!! These potatoes are the best! They arent dry like most twice baked potatoes are that I have tried (not that that is a hard one to fix) I followed the directions to a T and they turned out perfect. Oh! I did coat the skins of the potatoes with oil before I baked them to give them a bit of a crispier shell. These would also make great mashed potatoes and save a bit of time by boiling rather than baking. Thanks for the WONDERFUL recipe!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
Awesome! I have been looking for a recipe like my grandma used to make (she didnt use a written recipe, just made it to taste) this is the closest that I have found. I didnt add the mushrooms because Grandma didnt, and I also baked it instead of putting it in the slow cooker. Thanks for the recipe!

Old Fashioned Stuffing

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
This was my first attempt at making home made stuffing and it turned out well. I used home made bread and had to add twice as much chicken broth as it called for. I also added a little poultry seasoning and thyme to spice it up a bit. Yummy!

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2003
Yummy! I tweeked the recipe just a little. I substituted a package of taco seasoning for the salt and chili powder and I used speghetti sauce instead of taco sauce. I thought that it could use about twice as much sauce as the recipe calls for. It just didnt seem like there was quite enough to go around. This is the perfect recipe for the crumbs at the bottom of the bag of chips. My bag was about half full but I tipped it to the side and got the crumbs out of the bottom so I didnt have to use any of the "good" chips.

French Dip Sandwiches

Just okay. I thought the meat tasted okay but didnt really care for it. I couldnt use the juice to dip. It about made me gag when I sampled it. I dont know what it was that I didnt care for about it.

Classic Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2003
I didnt have any cheese whiz on hand so I just used shredded cheddar cheese. I Thought that is was too soupy. I got more of the taste of the soup then I did of the green beans and I am not much of a cream of mushroom soup fan, I made it for the beans not the soup. My kids refused to eat it so most of it just ended up in the trash.

Hot Cocoa Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2003
This is okay but I was hoping for something tasting a little more like the mix you can buy in the store. I didnt think it was creamy enough so next time I will add another 1 3/4 cup of the creamer and reduce the powdered milk by that much. I also didnt think it was quite sweet enough so I will also double the amount of powdered sugar.

Wassail Punch

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2003
This is a pretty good punch but was a little to strong for me. Next time I will add a cup or 2 of water. Has flavor is good and has just the right amount of spice.

Peanut Butter Fingers

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
Yum! My husband had "the best" lunch lady who always made the best food. He wanted her recipe for peanut butter bars and with his discription of them I found this recipe. He said that they arent quite like she made them but we all loved this recipe. You'll need a HUGE glass of milk with these. They are rich and delicious!

Chicken Rellenos

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
Pretty good. I am a huge chili relleno fan and could find any recipies for chili rellenos so I tried this. Not quite what I expected, but not bad. I shredded my chicken and rolled it up in tortillas. My kids even ate it!

Texas Sheet Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
Yummy! I love the frosting. My 3 year old loves sprinkles so we had to try it without the nuts so the sprinkles would "look the prettiest". Turned out wonderfully. With some of the reviews stating that it was brownish, I thought it would have more of a brownie texture but it was as cakey as they come.

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2002
Not at all what I expected. I took the advise of another reviewer and added 1/2 tsp of almond extract. Big mistake! It totally covered up the coconut flavor. Maybe try coconut extract instead? They didnt bake very well for me either. I cooked them as the recipe sugested and the little peices of coconut that stuck out got a little too cooked. I hoped they would be a little more like the ones you can get at the bakery. Will not make these again.

Pecan Fondant Logs

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2002
Yummy and VERY addicting! These are so simple to make. My little sister just could not get enough of these. I took goodie plates to my sisters and brother and she was quite disapointed when I told her that these werent on her plate. Next time I think that I will dip them in carmel before rolling in the nuts to help the nuts stick better. I also shaped them into little balls instead of logw because the logs were harder to roll in the pecans. They streched out as I rolled.
