Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2004
Whoa! Can you say sweet? I cut the sugar in the crust in half and still thought it was sweet. I would prefer somthing with just the slightest hint of tart so I will keep looking. Over all, the taste was good, the texture great and worth a try. Also, the outside of my cheesecake cracked, while the middle wasnt quite cooked, but almost.

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
This recipe definately has potential. I was not impressed with the tomato sauce, I would use enchilada sauce or salsa next time. Also, I thought there was too much cheese. Wow! That is really saying something for me because I am a cheese lover and usually add more than is called for. Maybe there wasn't too much, just needed something in there with it. I think I will try a little shredded chicken in the middle of the chilies next time. I have never had chile rellenos with meat in them, but hey, sounds like it would be tasty!

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
The Best!! It turned out perfect. I didn't use the cinnamon or even wait for it to cool over night. I ate it right out the pan as soon as I was finished cooking. Yummy!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
Totally Awesome!! The texture was so perfect. Even after sitting around for 2 days, they were still nice and tender. Amazing. Super easy and not at all time consuming. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they didn't quite have the "biscuit" taste I was going for, but I will definately make them again.

Brian's Favorite Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
WOW!! I would give this 6 stars if I could!! This sauce was absoutely delish!! I did double the oregano, basil and cayenne pepper as some reviewers suggested. I also pureed 2 of the cans of tomatoes, only used about 1 tablespoon of the olive because thats all I found was needed and let it simmer for about an hour. It turned out perfect. The kids loved it!

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
The frosting is what makes this cake! Delicious! The cake was very dense and heavy. I was not overly impressed with the cake. The flavor was okay but the texture was not what I wanted. I may try again and add coconut extract to the batter. It may have turned out the way it did because of my oven - burned the top and left the bottom barely cooked.

Cream Cheese Candies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
Wow! Not at all what I was hoping for. I thought there was too much mint flavoring, I would have perfered it to be a bit more subtle. Also, the powdered sugar was very strong as well. I could barely taste the cream cheese, and then only when I was really trying. I basically tasted just like minty powdered sugar.

Strawberry Torte

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
Okay, what are lady finger cookies and where do you find them?? I looked at 3 different grocery stores in town with no luck so I used graham cracker sticks instead. Instead of putting a layer of them in the middle, I put the majority of the strawberries and then put the rest on top and swirled it. Next time I will use a bit more cornstarch to thicken it up a bit more, mine was a bit thin. I was a bit impatient and didn't let it sit in the fridge for more than 15 minutes or so, and when I took off the side of my pan and cut it, it kinda fell, but the next day when I cut it, it was great. The flavor and texture were awsome!

Butterhorn Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
Not too bad. Definitely something you want to eat fresh out of the oven, not too good the next day. I used butter flavored shortening and the taste and texture were good.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
Awesome!! I followed the recipe almost exactly (I added a little flour to thicken it up a bit) and it was perfect! One thing I did notice was it made a little more than 2 servings, atleast at my house. I fed my family of 4 with it, although my kids are just 3 and 5, and still had leftovers.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Yummy! Definately a keeper! I did need to bake it about 20 minutes longer than the recipe called for but other than that, the recipe was perfect

Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2004
This is deffinately NOT a keeper. I thought it was very bland and a bit dry. Needed some salt . Also, I would put the veggies in more than one layer. With all the veggies on the same layer, they fell out when I cut it because it was such a large layer.

Lemon Supreme Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2004
Yummy! We loved it. I did add a bit more of the lemon juice then was called for because I love tart things. This is definately a keeper. Quick and easy! Oh, and I used a graham cracker crust because that is what we like. Thanks for sharing!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2004
I thought there was way too much of the pretzel crust. I thought it distracted from the rest of the salad. I would either cut it in half, use a graham cracker crust or just use another layer of the jello on the bottom. Other than the crust, it was great.

Marinated Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2004
Wow!! This was sooo good. The favorite was the cream cheese but is was so hard to cut and didn't hold its shape while marinating so I just marinated the whole block and served it with the sauce poured over it. Awesome!!

Bagels II

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2004
Will not make again. The flavor was okay but nothing great by all means. The whole shaping thing did not work at all. I ended up with more like bagel sticks.

Hamburger Pie

This is so good and easy. Unless I have leftover mashed potatoes, I use instant in order to cut down on time. I also add a can of mushrooms. Yummy!

They came out hard a rocks!! I even shortened the baking time by a couple of minutes. I followed the recipe exactly. They did have good flavor but were a bit flat. Will not make these again.
