Wow! I was really impressed by not only how good this was, but how easy. It came out perfect.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I thought this fondant was very easy to make and to work with. It did dry out a little while I was working with it, so I just added a little water and VOILA! Don't forget to add the water!! I made 2 batches and forgot on the second batch. Killed my mixer. :( And I still gave it 5 stars. :) I left out the vanilla and used butter flavored shortening. It is very rich so we all had a smaller than normal piece, but my waistline thanks you.

Sweet Tart Pastry

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
I was not overly impressed. It tasted a lot like a sugar cookie to me, and just using sugar cookie dough would be easier. No kneading. Just be sure to not over bake.

Crunch Bar

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I love the toffee, but am unsure about the crackers in there. I probably wouldn't even notice if I didn't know... My kids all loved it and said they couldn't taste the crackers. Super easy though. Make sure you use the right size of pan if you want the proportions to work out right. The recipe calls for a 10x15 pan, NOT a full sized cookie sheet. I left off the nuts and used milk chocolate chips. The 2 cups was a bit much for me, so I would use 1 cup next time. I think I would also up the butter and brown sugar to 1 1/2 cups next time to have a bit more toffee on the crackers.

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
I ended up getting 16 tortillas out of the recipe. I cut the dough into about golf ball sized pieces and then rolled them flat. In order to get the nice round edges, roll your dough into a nice ball, flatten with the palm of your hand, then roll out. Make sure you have enough flour so that the dough doesn't stick, and rotate 1/4 turn after each roll. Roll from the center out, but don't leave the dough with your rolling pin at the edge. My husband said that they were bland, but other than that, everyone liked them. Just an average recipe.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
The family loved the shrimp, but I wasn't as much of a fan. Instead of grilling in, I ended up just cooking it in a pan on the stove in the marinade (no skewers) and it worked out fine.

Sugar Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
I needed a quick recipe that went in a cooked pie shell without bananas or coconut. This was SUPER easy and yummy. After looking through reviews, I cooked mine on med/high heat. It cooked very fast. I would recomend turning the heat down as soon as it starts to boil so it doesn't scortch.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
The whole family loved it. The sauce is what makes it a 5 star recipe in my opinion. I used canned chicke broth instead of the wine, and left out the chicken bullion.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
We really enjoyed this. My 1 year old ate it really well. I followed the recipe exactly, except I forgot the sugar. Noticed it when Hubby was going back for seconds, so I added 1 Tbls then. Great either way. Didn't have any trouble with the sauce not thickening. I also ended up adding a cut up zuchinni with the chicken and chopped carrot - we love our veggies!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
The pie baked up well but I thought the nutmeg was a bit over powering. 7 yr old loved it but hubby didn't care for it.

Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
We really enjoyed these bread bowls but I thought that the outside should be a crispy instead of soft. I brushed the outside with egg white and reduced the sugar to 1/4 c. The flavor was great and we did not have any problems with them leaking. When I took out the "guts", I pressed the remaining insides to the edge to help reinforce the bowl. I served them with broccoli cheese soup which is thicker, don't think I would serve with a broth soup for fear of leaking.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
We loved the flavor and the crisp top crust, but it was VERY runny. Even after being completely cooled, it was very runny. I did add a little vanilla to the carmel and sprinkled the apples with cinnamon.

Orange Charlotte

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
I had a cold when I made this so I was not able to taste it very well, but my husband and kids really liked it. I used Cool Whip Lite instead of cream to cut down on the calories and fat and so I was able to omit the sugar needed to sweeten the cream. I also accidentally added a little extra lemon juice (I cut the recipe down but not the lemon juice). It set really quickly so we were able to enjoy it only a couple hours after making!

Pizza Dough II

We really enjoyed this recipe. It had great flavor. I did add a little garlic powder and Itallian seasoning. I prebaked the crust for about 8 minutes and then added my toppings and baked another 15 minutes.

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
This recipe saved me!!! I made another recipe similar to this one and it didn't turn slushy, it was jelloey. Luckily I made it a day before I needed it so I had a chance to do something else. This one turned out perfect. I halved the recipe, used cherry jello (cause that is what I had) and switched amounts of pineapple and orange juice because I didn't have enough pineapple juice because of the previous failed recipe. I don't know if I would have liked it any better the other way around. This will definatly be added to my favorite recipes!

Surprise Banana Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
Turned out really well. First time making a banana cake so I had nothing to compare to. I followed the recipe without the nuts and used 1 cup cake flour and 1 cup all purpose flour. Next time I will use all cake flour because it was still a little heavy like a light banana bread. Frosted with cream cheese frosting. Thanks!

Yummy!! They were so soft and chewy. The kids loved them. I didn't have enough of the mints so I did some plain and they still turned out great!

Planet Mars Almond Bars

These were yummy. I think they would be a ton better with home made carmel. I wish the nouget was a little heavier but over all, they were yummy!
