Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
Amazing!! I thought this bread was so moist & delicious. I skipped the walnuts since my family doesn't like them. It says to add sliced bananas but mine were so brown & mushy I just threw them in there. Yummy!!!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
Not awful, but nothing that anyone in my family would request a 2nd time. Everyone said it was blah & needed something, more spices or seasonings or something. I followed the recipe as is, which is what I always try to do the first time around. Maybe with some tweaks it would be better.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
This was a big hit at our house!! Husband & teenage boy loved it. I liked it too, so it's a keeper & will be making it again. I didn't know what to expect when it was done. I thought I would be slicing it up, but when I went to pull it out it was falling apart & so tender. Some of the pics on here look like slices. Not sure why they look different. I followed the recipe to a T & it was great.

Peach Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
I had a bunch of peaches & didn't know what to do with them & came across this recipe. I would like to say I followed the recipe as is, however, I lost count of how many scoops of flour I had added when my son started talking to me. I think I added too much flour because the directions said to pour the batter into pan & it was too thick to pour. I then added another egg & some more oil & more cinnamon. I also made 4 small loaves instead of 2 big loaves. With all that said, it turned out great. I froze a couple loaves & they seem to freeze well. They were delicious. Even my son & husband, who don't like peaches, liked it. I would definately make again.

Sweet and Hot Apple Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
I did not care for this & my 11 year old & husband were not impressed either. Too sweet for me. I was expecting smokey & spicy like the description said, but I guess with the apple pie filling & sweet potatoes & the name of the recipe, I should have known it was going to be sweet. Several reviewers said two peppers were too much. Not in my opinon. Still too sweet. I cubed the potatoes bigger hoping they wouldn't be mushy, but they were just not good either. The pork was somewhat dry around outside, but moist in the middle and the bottom. My son & I ended up using Famous Daves BBQ sauce with the pork just to eat it. I will not be making this again.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
My husband, 11 year old & mom gave it 4 stars, so I say it was a success. I wasn't as thrilled with it. Next time I would add a bunch of black pepper, maybe some worchesire sauce. Not sure. I thought the gravy was a little blah, however, the boys ranked it higher then most meals.

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
We loved these enchiladas. I don't have a gas stove, so I didn't char them. It was quite the process to put them together. Now that I've read other tips, I would mix the sour cream & chicken together & spread it. I would maybe add some canned green chiles & onions. I would definately make again.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
I usually don't like this kind of sandwich, but my husband does & it got rave reviews, so thought I'd give it a whirl. He gave it 4 stars, my 10 year old son gave it 4 1/2 out of 5. It was a hit. I followed the suggestions of using beef broth instead of water, using a chuck roast instead of a rump roast, used 2 packets of salad dressing mix, & shredded the meat after 8 hours & cooked it the remaining time after shredding.

Southwest Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2010
My family thought this was really yummy! I ommited the chilies in my son's, but left them in the others. I accidently bought Pepper Jack instead of Monterey Jack. It was good! I will add to my recipe book and make again for sure.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
We weren't thrilled with these pork chops. They were dry. I did what some previous people did and decided to cook them on low for 8 hours instead of high for 4 hours. They seemed done after only 4 hours on low. I tried to find the thickest pork chops possible. Maybe they weren't thick enough. Besides being dry, I didn't care for the seasoning.

Amazing Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
I thought these were good, but nothing that I would necessarily want to make again. My husband said they needed some kind of seasoning, but wasn't sure what. I think I'd rather stick with the French fried onions crushed with some flour. We love that recipe.

Chocolate Crinkles II

I thought these were good, not great. My 10 year old son said they were good, but dry. He wasn't thrilled with them. I took them to a party with lots of kids and there were several left over at the end of the night.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

I thought this recipe was alright. My picky 10 year old liked it and wanted seconds. My husband said he liked it but didn't seem overly thrilled. The porkchops were not really tender. Some got a little dried out.

I thought this was alright. My 10 year old wasn't too impressed, but he doesn't like mexican food much. I would have to say that the prep time for me was closer to30 minutes.

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
I like the taste of the inside of the pie, but think just a simple brushing of milk on the crust and half the amount of sugar on the top crust would be better. I only used about 1/2 of the amount of milk that was called for and it came out a little soggy and was worse the next day. The next day the top crust was gooey. Too much milk! Next time I would use just a little amount. Otherwise- very easy and tastey. I was bummed not to have more leftovers. The crust was just too soggy and gooey the next day.
