Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Delicious!! And best soup I have made in my opinion. what I did diff. after reading reviews was I sauted carrots, celery, onion, and garlic. also I chopped up raw chicken and sauted it separately (and before the veggies) and seasoned it with poultry seasoning and chachere's seasoning but not too much. and I doubled the recipe bc I was cooking for others and.used 2c heavy cream and 2 cups 2% milk. I LOVE this soup.

This was delicious and everyone loved it. Made as directed but could easily be made to suit different taste. Next time I make this it won't be for a crowd and I plan to spice it up!

Parmesan Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
Everyone loved it. used one large can of soup which is just a little more than this recipe calls for, threw everything in the crockpot and cooked on high for four hrs. parmesan should be monitored for mine did burn a little on just one side.---- I have made this a few times now and like it a lot for a simple crock pot recipe. Don't add the extra salt, add parmesan at the end just enough time for it to melt and add a tad more liquid or soup. Adding mushrooms or frozen broccoli is nice.

very simple, very good. wow... i usually buy a boston butt because it is cheaper, this time i bought the tenderloin the quality was way better and i think i might just spend the extra for the better BBQ unless i am just broke.

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
great traditional recipe. i didnt use instant rice but regular rice, not sure why it calls for instant. i cooked 3 cups of reg. uncle bens rice and i eliminated about 2 cups for i felt it was too much rice. and i accidenlty use only about 3/4c of water. dish was still good, i think i did miss the water for it was thicker than it should have been but flavor was great. i WILL make this again and keep in mind this makes a large dish.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
First off, Thank you for this recipe Robin. I have never made a turkey before and when i read the recipe i thought.. it seems so easy.. and basic.. how can it bee so good? well i was making my first full turkey dinner with all the fixings including the dressing and giblet gravy. My turkey was 12.6lbs.. i put it in the oven at 4:30am for timing purposes and the only thing i did different was followed my sister in laws suggestion to bake at 325 for longer, so i did, and for 5 hrs. then took foil off and cooked an additional 30+ min to brown the turkey. it looked beautiful and i had about 8 cups or so of broth in the pan that i was able to use for my dressing and gravy. All were delicious and got rave reviews. talk about feeling proud. everyone mentioned how moist the turkey was and asked.."how did you get it so moist!?" all i could say cause i wasn't sure.. haha was that the recipe said that the butter under the skin was suppose to have made it moist. ha whatever it was it was GREAT! and from my experience i find no reason to find another recipe for baking a turkey or making turkey another way..

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
i followed recipe exact...(except maybe i put too much mustard).. gave 4 stars but this could easily get 5 with small adjustments. i believe the red potatoes are a must for great potato salad. i think i put a little too much mustard in mine for i eyeballed it instead of using my measuring spoons and with the relish and pepperoncini it was too mustartdy/vingery. but again maybe it was too much mustard..dont get me wrong this salad was still good but it was not the best.. i like mustard in my potato salad but i like the mayo to be more dominant in the flavor. i think the ranch is a nice addition but i do miss the classic potato salad with the green pepper and maybe a little celery. i WILL make the best potato salad for it is one of my favorites.

Giblet Gravy II

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
this is what i know to be giblet gravy from family holiday dinners... and this time i made it! i doubled the recipe for i was feeding more than 6 i used all the innards, if i had kept to the original serving size i probably would have used only half the liver but with doubling i used all. I did pick meat off the neck and actually left the neck in the gravy as a request from my brother..ha. and i did add some cornstarch to thicken in a bit. everybody loved it and the neck was a fun topic. hehe

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
great recipe! the greatest was the crust which i made as recipe said to, the rest..which is the filling.. the possibilities are endless! oh and i definitely subbed mozzarella for the cheddar! i would use cheddar only sparingly if AT ALL. i also added shredded Parmesan cheese but the rest was as is. and sooooooooo goood will make many more times, the hardest part was the crust but it was worth it!!

very tasty, will make again, i wish i knew what to do to make it not so soupy? i had to cut in half to get out of dish, not get me wrong i loved the taste! i guess i wanted to eat with fork and not just my tortilla chips, bc it was so mushy it was almost like a fancy dip?.. i dunno.. i did use A LOT of enchilada sauce. lol hubby loved it, he likes soupy stuff anyways :) it i didnt make it so soupy i would give 5 stars, so maybe not recipes fault?

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
this was a very good dish, i did make double the sauce and it turned out perfect. we like plenty of sauce. :) we also did add a can of mushrooms also. The man of the house raved and said might be best dish yet. could not find cream cheese with chives at the store but did find cream cheese with ONION and chives. again great recipe, did not give 5 stars for i cant say it is MY favorite dish :) but i will definitely make it again with no changes, i don't really see how it could get much better, and why change a good thing. It is very much worth trying this recipe and it was SO EASY. i cooked in the crockpot, just mixed sauce ingredients and threw in the chicken! also used bowtie pasta for a little change. enjoy.
