Greek Style Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
I was looking to recreate the Greek restaurant potatoes, and these are them! I used chicken broth instead of the water and bouillon. I had about 7 small baking potatoes, I peeled them and halved them, and placed them in a 9x13 dish. Poured the mixture on top, and baked (uncovered) the whole time. I turned them once midway - and they were PERFECT!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
These were a nice change from the regular soft tacos we usually eat, BUT they didn't stand out and I didn't feel like eating the leftovers the next day. I don't regret trying them, but I'm not planning to make them again.

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
If you are the person who enjoys stealing bites from the cookie dough, these are for you. Why bother making cookies when what you REALLY want is to eat the entire bowl of dough? Roll up a bunch of these suckers and enjoy a guilty treat. They are exactly what they claim to be: frozen chocolate chip cookie dough balls. And they are great.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
I was impressed with this soup and am keeping it on my list of food to serve when I have company. I probably only used 1/2 tsp of dried basil, I also used soy milk instead of half-and-half (and omitted the cheese) to keep it lactose-friendly: all without sacrificing any taste!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
I made this for my husband, and didn't change a single thing from the ingredient list. It made the house smell amazing, and he says it tasted great.

Crescent Pizza Pinwheels

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
These were quick and easy to make. Having a good serrated knife made the cuts easier. I don't think crescent rolls are the right flavor though ... almost too savory. We definitely had leftovers.

Tuna Pockets

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
These were quick and easy to make. I wish I could have got more filling inside, but I was weary of tuna explosions. A good basic recipe.

Lemon Coconut Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
I must say that I do prefer a traditional lemon bar over these. The lemon taste wasn't as noticeable as I was hoping for, so I would follow the suggestions of others to increase the lemon juice to 3/4 c.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
I found this easy to work with, as it stayed where I wanted it to and didn't run all over the place. I used milk like some suggested, and added a drop of almond extract for extra punch.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
These are great and simple to make! If I am planning to roll them out and cut into shapes, I refrigerate the cutouts prior to baking. That way the cookies don't spread out and lose their shape.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
This was the first white chili I've tried, and I have already had a request to make more. I used the full amount of spices, but followed the suggestion to puree one can of beans to make the chili thicker. I let it simmer for 20 minutes longer than suggested, and it came out thick (like chili should be!) It was twice as good the second day.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
The only change I made was to use all butter, instead of the butter/shortening mix. Don't let previous cream of tartar comments scare you, I used the full amount, and the cookies came out fantastic.

Basic Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
The reason I picked this recipe was that the ingredients are ones that I always have around the house. I made these to go along with a huge pot of chili, and they were eaten right up. The perfect amount of sweetness.

Creamy Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
The only change I made was to increase the mushrooms to approx. 3 cups, as mushrooms tend to cook down quite a bit. Served it with garlic crusty bread and enjoyed!

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

I made these exactly as stated. No substitutions. No alterations. My sister said it was the best cookie she has ever eaten.

Roasted Yams

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
I made this as an alternative to mashed potatoes. It turned out to be kind of boring, but then again, so are mashed potatoes.

Sky High Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
I kept staring into the oven as these continued to rise. These get much more vertical than the ones my mother makes from scratch! I also let the ingredients come to room temp first - I think that is a given rule with yorkshire pudding.

Gramma Brown's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
I read the reviews of this recipe and the suggestion to set aside the bacon until the end is bang on. I threw in an extra cup of frozen corn, and thought it was great. Even better the next day.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Husband said it tasted awesome. I used beef broth instead of water, and added the juice of two small tomatoes to richen the flavor and soften the meat further. I cooked it for 4 hours on high, until my thermometer reached "well done." The house smelled wonderful, too.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
YUM. I understand why this is one of the top-rated salads. Don't alter it! I made the dressing as stated and thought it was delicious. Toasting the almonds adds such great flavor, do not skip that step! It makes a lot of dressing, more than you need. This will be my go-to salad from now on.
