I'm a health-conscious "flexitarian" with an interest in baking and a terrible weakness for cupcakes. I try to eat as clean as possible, and avoid red meat and dairy whenever I can.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. Probably because I love eating baked goods. I've also become a fan of my slow cooker. I'm a busy gal, but I still want to make tasty home-cooked meals - the slow cooker is my ally.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every New Year's Eve we have a fondue! It's a 10 year tradition, still going strong.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever someone comments that the dish I made was delicious, or when someone asks me for my recipe, I consider it a triumph.
I also consider it a triumph when I cook an amazing meat dish, like prime rib. I am not a fan of red meat, so when I cook "blind" and it gets rave reviews, I pat myself on the back.
My cooking tragedies
I have yet to master the broiler on my oven. Everything I have broiled thus far has filled the kitchen with a smokey smell and left me frustrated ... oh well, I'll get there eventually.
