Pasta Carbonara

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Way too cream cheese-y, if I were to make this again I'd probably only use half the amount. It also needs some mushrooms and veggies of some sort.

Tea Biscuits

Good but just a bit too salty for my taste. I'll cut the salt in half next time I make these. They're best eaten still warm from the oven!

Chocolate Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
This turned out good in the end, I had some trouble getting it thick enough to use right away so I added some corn starch which really helped.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I'm not sure about the nutmeg taste. I had a few right out of the oven and freshly rolled in sugar/cinnamon but they weren't that great. The next day the definately tasted better, though they'd be better if they tasted more like mini donuts.

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I didn't like the cream cheese taste to these. They are very very rich, we called them cake cookies. They took a few tries before we decided if we liked them or not. They are much much better with chocolate chips added in.

Easy Mini Quiches

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
I did not care for these. Not quiche but rather dry little muffins. I won't be making these again.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
My boyfriend really wanted some zucchini bread so I tried this out, he said it's amazing, especially toasted with butter. I used 1 1/2 c each of whole wheat and white flour, 1 c apple sauce instead of oil, and only 2 c white sugar. It was so moist and delicious! I think you could use even less sugar since it's still pretty sweet.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
These are great because they are so easily to modify. I've made these with both saskatoon berries and frozen blueberries. I use wheat bran instead of germ and 1/2 cup of apple sauce since my mom's allergic to bananas. I also add my own topping of oats, flax seed, and brown sugar. Last time I actually forgot to put the oats in the muffins and they still turned out great!

Carrot 'N' Celery Amandine

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
Tasted pretty bland, definitely not an interesting dish. The almonds were good on top though.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
It really is the crumb topping that makes these muffins. I use hard margerine for the topping, if you use 1 tbsp exactly the topping is perfect and there is no reason to hold off til the last 5 minutes of baking to sprinkle on. Add to much and the topping will be a bit off, kind of carmelized instead of crumbly.

Sugar Cookie Icing

looked good, tasted bad. I definitely prefer the store bought icing to this.
