Pasta Carbonara

Way too cream cheese-y, if I were to make this again I'd probably only use half the amount. It also needs some mushrooms and veggies of some sort.

Good but just a bit too salty for my taste. I'll cut the salt in half next time I make these. They're best eaten still warm from the oven!

Chocolate Syrup

This turned out good in the end, I had some trouble getting it thick enough to use right away so I added some corn starch which really helped.

Donut Muffins

I'm not sure about the nutmeg taste. I had a few right out of the oven and freshly rolled in sugar/cinnamon but they weren't that great. The next day the definately tasted better, though they'd be better if they tasted more like mini donuts.

Gooey Butter Cookies

I didn't like the cream cheese taste to these. They are very very rich, we called them cake cookies. They took a few tries before we decided if we liked them or not. They are much much better with chocolate chips added in.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

My boyfriend really wanted some zucchini bread so I tried this out, he said it's amazing, especially toasted with butter. I used 1 1/2 c each of whole wheat and white flour, 1 c apple sauce instead of oil, and only 2 c white sugar. It was so moist and delicious! I think you could use even less sugar since it's still pretty sweet.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

These are great because they are so easily to modify. I've made these with both saskatoon berries and frozen blueberries. I use wheat bran instead of germ and 1/2 cup of apple sauce since my mom's allergic to bananas. I also add my own topping of oats, flax seed, and brown sugar. Last time I actually forgot to put the oats in the muffins and they still turned out great!

Banana Crumb Muffins

It really is the crumb topping that makes these muffins. I use hard margerine for the topping, if you use 1 tbsp exactly the topping is perfect and there is no reason to hold off til the last 5 minutes of baking to sprinkle on. Add to much and the topping will be a bit off, kind of carmelized instead of crumbly.
