About this Cook
I just left my job as a professional pastry chef (10 years). LOVED the work but just looking to move on to learn something new! I am a pro when it comes to baking, but more of an intermediate level cook. We have a container garden and love using home grown vegetables when cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking vegetables and seafood, as well as desserts. I make a lot of salads and homemade dressings. For dinner we tend to go with some sort of seafood or chicken, along with a vegetable or two and maybe some rice or potatoes. Rarely use beef or pork and we almost never fry food. It's fun to try these on occasion but we're trying to eat well most of the time! Our favorite splurge is homemade ice cream :)
My cooking triumphs
I can bake anything as a result of my work experience. I make great cakes, pies, pastries, and other desserts. Also make great homemade ice cream and fresh salads and dressings. Getting better at everything else! Trying to practice a lot!
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had any tragedies per se, but I'd like to get better at cooking seafood, and I'd like to learn steaks. I don't eat red meat or pork, but I'd like to be able to cook my boyfriend a good steak every now and then! I cook seafood well, but my boyfriend cooks salmon better than any food I've ever had. Practice makes perfect!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
These are awesome - I melted a tiny bit of butter with the chocolate and used crunchy peanut butter. Also added a little vanilla to the peanut butter filling and used dark chocolate rather than milk. They are so fast and easy to make - most of the time is just waiting for the chocolate to harden in the fridge. ALSO great to make ahead - I am planning an event next week and will be adding these to the menu as I can do them a day or two ahead of time! They are perfect - never want to eat another fakey artificial Reese's candy again!

Provincial Tomatoes
They're okay as written.... lacked some flavor, though. I used Italian bread crumbs. I did love the contrasting textures! Next time I will use fresh bread crumbs or panko and play with the herb combination a bit, perhaps add a little garlic or something else.... Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Belle's Hamburger Buns
These were okay. Very attractive, fluffy, and easy to make... just nothing special in terms of flavor. Bland in my opinion. They were not dense, but if you are comparing them to packaged hamburger buns, then of course they are! I rather prefer these to a flimsy packaged bun - they hold up regardless of what you put on them.
