Kiki's Borracho (Drunken) Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
This recipe is way too salty! If (and that's a big IF) I make this recipe again, I will cut the salt down to one-fourth of what the recipe calls for. The dark beer was also not to our liking. If I make this recipe again, I will either leave out the beer or use a blonde instead of dark beer.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
Best ribs I've ever made and super easy! I didn't have whiskey so I substituted cognac instead and the sauce was still delicious. This recipe is a definite keeper!!

Almond Green Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
This recipe is simple, quick, and a nice combination of beans and tomatoes. I don't like canned vegetables because fresh or frozen always taste much better (using canned ingredients in this recipe is why I gave it a four instead of five star rating). The first time I made this recipe, I used fresh green beans and tomatoes from my garden but in the off-season, I use frozen green beans.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
Best meatloaf recipe I've tried. Adding the quinoa gives the dish a nice nutty flavor! Using quinoa instead of bread crumbs also gives the dish a more pleasant texture. Instead of a brick-like texture, the servings have a lighter consistency. Having the added bonus of using a complete protein grain such as quinoa is a definite plus for those looking for healthy recipes. I will definitely make this recipe many more times.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
This message is for the person who cooked a 6 pound pork roast in six hours but the recipe didn't turn out. Instead of cooking the roast too long, it sounds like it wasn't cooked long enough. I cooked a 2.5 pound tenderloin for six hours and it was tender and delicious. If you use a larger piece of meat, you will need to cook it longer. Six pounds will probably take at least 12 hours to cook. Also, make sure that you increase the rest of the ingredients.
