Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2013
OMG I will never use another recipe for turkey burgers again! I am such a food snob and my daughter doesn't fall far from the tree and we are both in love with this recipe. We added fresh mozzarella to the top along with a little mayo and stuffed it all inside a roll we had just bought at the Italian market. OH MY GOODNESS was this heaven. Thank you SO much for this recipe!!!! Oh, I do have to say that we didn't have any "seasoned bread crumbs" so I just used plain with maybe a tsp of Italian seasoning. Also I used dried parsley and it was still incredible. Ugh, thanks again!

Grilled Pork Loin Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
Very delicious! The only changes I made was half-ing the cinnamon (do not completely remove from ingredients, it adds a nice change in flavor) and added a pinch more brown sugar. I would recommend though that when making this recipe that it is better to thicken the basting liquid before glazing the pork on the grill and to double the ingredients. Not only does thickening it make it stick better, but the flavor is a bit more concentrated. Otherwise, this recipe is incredible! I can not wait to make it for my husband the chef! He will definitely be jealous :)

Cheesy Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: May 16, 2012
Oh my, this is DELICIOUS!! I have been a big fan of Boston Market's creamed spinach, but as I have gotten older, it just has not pleased my taste buds as it did before. I have tried at least 20 different recipes, including my own concoctions, and this is the only one that I LOVE. It is cheesy, creamy, and oh so perfect. I did, however, ROUGHLY follow the directions. I needed to alter the recipe to serve only myself and my daughter (hubby was at work). I used a 12oz bag of frozen spinach that I cooked and drained COMPLETELY (this makes all the difference for those who said it was too watery). Then I sauteed the onions and garlic and added the cream. I also added a heaping spoonful of cream cheese and a pinch of nutmeg before adding the other cheeses. I did not have provolone so I used Montery Jack and Parmesan and a bit of super sharp aged cheddar; I did not measure but it was probably about what the recipe called for. This was SO GOOD! Thank you so much for finally satisfying my desires for an awesome creamed spinach. If it were not for the lack of nutmeg, cream cheese, and sharp cheddar (which it needed) in the recipe, then I would have rated it a five star.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
I used whole wheat flour the first time I made this recipe and then white flour the second..I prefer the whole wheat flour SOO much more. The wheat flour gives it a heartier texture and flavor. I also added extra nuts and cut down the chips. Very good recipe!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
Super delicious! Very simple recipe but maybe that is what makes it so great! I would definitely suggest to chill the steaks, after coating, for about 1-2 hours to let the coating stick. Otherwise, they seem to just fall apart.

Sorry, but I was not impressed. I have made many versions of pulled pork, and I did not care for this.

Turkey and Yam Spicy Tacos

Delish! However, I did add a bit of Splenda to give it a little more sweetness. Otherwise, very good and what an awesome way to sneak those sweet potatoes in!

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
This recipe is awesome! I only had balsamic vinegar and plain vinegar so I mixed that 50/50 and this still turned out wonderful. I normally hate chicken breast but because I am on a healthier lifestyle, I wanted to try to make them better. This marinade was unexpectedly delicious and I cannot wait to use red wine vinegar (it will only improve the recipe). Thank you so much for posting this!!!!

Grilled Salmon with Creamy Tarragon Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
If I could give this higher than 5-stars, I would give this 20! YUMMMMM! Tarragon is an acquired taste, but I think if you are past the age of 14, then you should be in the clear. This was unbearably delicious and Joyce Turley, you have officially changed my Salmon lovin life!

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
Sorry. I tried to like this. I double checked the recipe and maybe I was the one who made a mistake, but this was awful. I expect crab cakes to be moist and packed with crab. Mine were buttery, thick, salty, dry, and there was no taste of crab.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
This was ridiculously good. I mean GREAT! I have always just seasoned my Salmon with Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper and have been satisfied. I always buy my fish fresh so I've never complained about the wonderful flavor that already exists in Salmon. However, I did want to try something new and just plain maple syrup squeezed on something so beautiful just doesn't seem to do it justice. So I decided to try this and I am so happy I did. My whole family LOVED this! I even used the exact same recipe and let it reduce on simmer in a pot and drizzled it on top. Thank you tinamenina for this awesome twist.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
Seriously, this was amazing! It sucks I can not eat this more often as I am a diabetic, but for a once in a blue moon side dish, this sure was a treat. It is a bit sweet, but the pecans definitely contrast it a bit better than the normal marshmallow topping. I will be using this recipe again..maybe even for Christmas next year.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
This may be a good base recipe, but it was a bit flavorless and a little soft. I think if the temp was down to 350* and baked a little longer, it might be the right crunchy texture, but that is just my preference. However, that still would not change the fact it was not sweet enough and had very little peanut butter flavor. Once again, this is just based upon my preference...and my fiance, and daughter, and neighbor, and friend.

Cheesy Potatoes n Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
To make this a little better, use gold potatoes (as gold potatoes are always better), and add a cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese. Also, there were far too many red peppers, I would only use 1/4 of what the recipe calls for. Finally, if you add chopped leeks instead of the chopped onions, it adds a much better flavor. Overall, the recipe given was much to bland.
