E-Z Drop Biscuits

I agree with comments about the wonderful texture of these biscuits. I added 1/2 c. grated sharp cheddar and 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped chives...omitted the sugar. Heaping tablespoons yielded 16 small biscuits - perfect for sharing with a crowd at a meeting - providing a savory option. 10 minutes gave them nice brown peaks.

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

This recipe has great potential. Here are the things I feel need consideration: how large are the mushrooms? Should the mushrooms be turned? Based on my experience, you must watch your mushrooms for donness and do not turn them. I substituted lemon juice but would have used white wine for vinegar (which I'm not supposed to consume) and I added thyme to the marinade. Ten minutes was much too long. They did not get mushy but too dark especially on the thin edges. I will do it again a little differently.

Chris's Incredible Italian Turkey Meatloaf

This would be great just the way its written although I recommend, for those who object to the rolled oats texture, that the oats are pulsed a bit finer...this produces a more satisfying texture and incorporates the oats nicely. Do this in a blendtec or blender. I, however, modified the recipe for my 'blood type' diet and used pureed artichoke hearts (for red sauce) and goat milk yogurt (for the milk). Thanks for the basics!

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

I've made a couple of times too and tweak and modify it now and then. Guests loved the taste of the one I made but dusted the pan with cinnamon (not cinnamon sugar). Other tweaks: a dash of cayenne mixed into the sugar; substitute vanilla with peppermint, almond, or hazelnut extract. I am making it without the cocoa for a moister cake this time...substituted dark chocolate bar - giving it a little extra time.

Cherry Crisp

I liked this recipe but made some changes. Concerned about sugar, I reduced 3/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar and was still pretty sweet...could be less...although may depend on pie filling. I used a jar of Door County Cherry pie filling. Also, I omitted the nutmeg and ground fresh cardomom seed (just a twist)...company loved it with whipped cream.
