Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
This is a terrific BASE RECIPE. If you ladies/gents out there make this with NO SEASONING adding then yes, it sure would be bland. Again, great base recipe. I used penne pasta, shrededed mozz/provolone cheese, alittle more sauce, basil and oregano, diced onion and minced garlic. My boyfriend had 2 plates. Serve with crispy romaine salad.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
Delicious. The publisher of the recipe must have a very old slow cooker -- because my pork started to become dry after 14 hours, so I turned it off. It was completely done. I followed the leader with liquid smoke (use more stated), sea salt, alittle black pepper and some allspice. My bf and I are on day 2 of eating the pork (4.5lbs). We have made bbq sandwiches as well as pulled pork tacos. I will definately make this again.

Swiss Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
This is an easy meal to make. Tasted good. Not delicious --- but good. My bf was satisfied. I used Cream of Celery instead and alittle garlic salt on the breast before adding the other. I will still make again sometime.

Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Yes, its just tasty. But, you might as well make lasagna or something. This is something that hcildren would love. THe bisquits did make it taste good. I cooked the bisquits for 8 minutes before everything on top of them. And I seasoned the beef and the sauce. I only used beef, pepperoni, and chopped onion and green peppers. THis is more of a kid-friendly recipe.

Easy Flat Iron Steak in Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
Pretty good. I didnt use ground mustard (didnt have). The sauce never thickened to my liking but it was still savory. My bf very much enjoyed the sauce with the potabellos. Overall 3.5 star. I still think flat iron steak is alittle bit on the chewy side for me. But would make again, but with different cut of steak.

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Loved this soup! After the initial boilling, I let it cook on low for 1.5 hours. I added alittle bit extra shredded cheddar. Alittle diced ham and cup of cauliflower. I didnt have any heavy cream, so I used half and half. Also, increased the amount of seasonings to my liking. I love cheese so to me, this was heavenly soup -- as usual, leftovers were delicious.

Salt and Vinegar Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Great! I read several negative reviews and I think too many people rely ONLY on teh cooks instructions and dont add personal touches of their own. Well, I made this last night for my fella and I. I used 1.5 cups apple cider vinegar and half cup italian dressing (as another suggested), used the 3 teaspoons salt BUT also added 1 teasppoon garlic salt. Also, used Emerill's poultry seasoning - 1 tablespoon. I used chicken breasts -- delicious. They didnt get crunchy but they were SOOOO moist and flavorful (I like vinegar). Marinated for 1.5 hours. And served over white rice where I could ladel some of the oven cooked marinade over. If you like vinegar, this is a keeper. Thank you for posting!

Fish in Foil

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
Delicious! Difference, is I grilled mine in the foil packet... it was the most tender fall apart fish every. Even the lemon slices I put on top of the fish was beyond tender. Also, I used different seasonings, but I also melted alittle bit of butter and used a grill brush to brush the fish with butter before adding seasonings, lemon/onion/jalapeno slices. I'm going to try the baked version tonight.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
This is a delicious recipe. I used Cajun Sausage (cut into small pieces). For seasoning, I used half teaspoon Cayenne Pepper. 1 teaspoon Basil and 1 teasp Garlic, and also a smidgeon of Habernero pepper sauce. It was great. My bf ate two bowls and kept complimenting the broth. Only reason I give 4 stars is because I'm not a huge soup eater, but given how cold it is, it hits the spot!

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
This is great salad! This is not the pea salad you grew up with as a kid. You could probably get the little ones to eat it. I made it and served with group of 18 people, many people got seconds of it. I followed the recipes except, instead of cheddar cheese, I used shredded romano. And added a bit of black pepper. OH and lowfat ranch.

Breaded Ranch Chicken

Nothing miraculous, but good flavor, none the less. Enjoyable and not too fattening, which is nice. Recommended for a not too fussy dinner.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
If you prepared the version and added NOTHING extra it would be xtremely BLAND. I added my own touches and it was delicious. This is a great GO 2 recipe for a casserole. Then you can docter it to your own taste. I added a small amount of fresh spinach, fresh mushrooms. I used fat free sourcream. Instead of cream of mushroom I used cream of CELERY. I added Emerils chicken rub spice - 2 tablespoons, 1 teaspoon cayenne, 1/5 teaspoon garlic powder and a small amount of onion flakes. And i did NOT feel the need to pput melted butter on top (come on people, we want a full stomach, not a fat a**.) And the crackers on top, topped with some sprinkled asiago/romano cheese mix. Will make again. MY version.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
If your tastebuds are NOT used to big flavor -- then take time to cook this. I even added alittle bit of italian dressing to the mayonnaise when I coated it..-- couldnt taste either the mayo or the dressing. I only lightly coated in bread crumbs. Sorry but not nearly as flavorful as other recipes. And NOT worth the fat/calories.
