It's frustrating when I read some reviews that say "I changed this, that and the other thing, and it came out terrible" then leave a bad rating!  I read once on a bread recipe that the person "is not a good bread baker anyway" and "I think I did not let it rise long… MORE

About Me
My main profession is wife and mom. I make money as a professional actor and comedian though. Both Stage and Film. Personally, I prefer a live audience to talking to a camera, so most of my work is as a Stand Up or Improv Comedian as well as acting/singing on a stage. I have no ambitions to become some famous celebrity, which tends to upset my agent a lot B-). Henry Winkler is a friend of mine and he told me a few years ago, "Take my advice. Don't become famous. It's fine to go for the 'rich' part, but being 'rich and famous' isn't as fun as it sounds." So, I am taking his advice B-). So far, I'm doing fine financially and loving my job too! Married 20 years to the same man. 3 children, 2 here on earth and our first is with God. We live in New England now, but I'm hoping we can move soon since I am more of a country gal than a city one.
My favorite things to cook
Nobody, but nobody, has ever been able to beat my chicken and turkey recipes. I'm quite proud of how many guests and family have begged me to make chicken or turkey for special occasions. Sundays are almost always chicken recipes. I use an awesome Brine for our Thanksgiving Turkey using Juniper Berries, other herbs and spices, and GUINNESS BEER!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is my all time favorite, hands down. I start planning the meal about the last week in September and we always have a local farmer butcher our turkey on the Tuesday or Wednesday before the big day.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering the art of delicious smooth gravy :-). See, my husband said to me once, about a month after he moved in with me, that he could not believe I didn't know how to make gravy (I was making the powdered kind). Then he bragged about his step mom's gravy all night and I snapped! Determined to learn and figuratively rub his nose in it. So, now I make some pretty tasty gravy.
My cooking tragedies
I'm embarrassed to admit this, however, I once cooked white fish and it ended up like a drink (it liquified) more than a meat. It was so gross! My poor family :-(. Until recently, I have been unable to make a decent loaf of bread as well. It used to smell good and everything but would be hard as a rock. Finally, I did a lot of reading up on the subject and read all I could about making sure bread was the right texture so I can now make some delicious bread.
