Pecan Tassies

We REALLY enjoyed these. We made two batches. One batch as written and for the second batch, my husband added 3 dark chocolate chips to each tassie before adding the batter and pecan. Both batches were delicious. Also, we used a ½ teaspoon of chopped pecans and ½ tablespoon of batter for each tassie. Using these measures made the assembly process faster. To form the little shells: We just put a plastic sandwich bag over the top of an unopened bottle of marinade. Just invert the bottle and press it into the dough ball. This forms a decent shell rather quickly.

Sweet Corn Bread

Excellent. I used 1/2 cup of sugar. UPDATE 07/01/2010 - I "baked" this in my crock pot because I did not want to heat up the house by baking it in the oven. I made the recipe as written (except I used 1/2 cup of sugar), then I poured the batter in my greased crock pot. Cooked on high for 3 hours. It was just as good as the baked version!

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

This recipes yields a very good Belgian waffle...however even with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, it was not at all "cinnamon-y" in its flavor. I will try again and use more cinnamon.

Creamy Cheese Bread

Good, but I found it a little salty for our taste. I suspect it was the brand of dressing mix that I used. I will definitely try again and either 1) use less of the seasoning or 2) try a different brand.

Sunday Best Fruit Salad

Not the best. The pie filling was the problem. It made it seem like a recipe from the 80's or a cafeteria style salad. I suggest just eating the fruit without the pie filling.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

The best! So peanut buttery and yet still chocolately. Yum. Yum. I substituted vegetable shorting for half of the butter. In addition, I only added 2 cups of flour.

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

From reading the other reviews and the recipe itself, I imagined a nice beefy dish with complementary kick. I followed the recipe exactly but did not get the results I expected. The spices/sauce in this recipe masked the flavor of the beef. I will not make this again. If you are interested in trying this recipe, check out the other review’s suggestions. Perhaps their ideas will render a better dish.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

So good. I did not like the bacon in the soup; the bacon's texture changed during the second cooking. Next time, I will wait to add the bacon until the end, as a garnish. So good. This is the best potato soup I've had...including my favorite version at a restaurant. Thank you for sharing with us Karena.

Salisbury Steak

Quite Delicious! The only thing I'll do different next time is to make the steaks smaller because my husband and I need portion control. I used prepared mustard instead of mustard powder, (because that is all I had) and it was great! Thanks for submitting this recipe.
