Chicken Jerusalem I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2001
This recipe is AWESOME!! I added some extra garlic salt and a little extra chopped garlic, as well as some mushrooms and just a little finely diced red onion to the sauce. It was not bland at all, very juicy and flavorful. It was also SO easy!! I halved the recipe (since there are only two of us here to eat it), but wish I hadn't! Truely awesome!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2001
This recipe was very good and VERY VERY easy!! It was a little bland for my taste, even tho I used extra garlic salt and pepper in the breading AND sprinkled some garlic salt on top after breading the chicken. Next time I will add some cayenne pepper and/or lemon. But it really was good, and I would suggest making it as the recipe calls for the first time, blandness can easily be fixed after cooking by adding more spice! Kids would probably LOVE this just as is.

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2001
This is really good. The sauce is EXCELLANT. (I think it would be good w/pork chops too!) The meat itself was a little bland. I think next time I will add more garlic and some salt and pepper. I did make extra sauce, and it is great. And this is so easy to make, I will def. do it again and again!

Linda's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2001
This was a really awesome blue cheese dressing. I've never made salad dressing before (except for premixed seasoning packets), and the idea of making my own blue cheese dressing instead of buying it at the store kind of amused me. But it sounded so easy, I went for it, and am so glad that I did! It is MUCH better than any store bought dressing I've ever tried. I also spent the money to get a good quality blue cheese, and think that was worth it! Thank you for a great recipe!

Alfredo Blue

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2001
This came out tasting great. I had trouble getting it to thicken up, finally added some flour. Instead of using regular salt, I used garlic salt (in additionalt ot the garlic in the recipe), and that seemed to give it more flavor. I sauteed shrimp and crabmeat in butter and lemon, then added to the sauce while it was simmering. Turned out great!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2001
Chantal, this is a great cheesecake! And so versitile! I have stirred in choc chips and put a choc swirl on top, served it with fruit (blueberry pie topping, as well as a homemade fruit salsa), and even swirled in maple syrup. It has always turned out great!! (Except for the time I made it at mom's house and used salt instead of sugar, but you can hardly fault the recipe for that!! LOL) Thanks a bunch!

BLT Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2001
This was really good. It took a while to fry all the bacon, and you really need to eat all the dip in one day, it's not really good the next. I added some finely diced onion too.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2001
These are AWESOME, I could not stop eating them after I made them! (finally had to stop myself since I'm bringing them to work for a potluck tomorrow) They did seem a little dry after I made them......I don't know if I did something wrong or what, the only thing I did differently from the recipe was use margarine instead of butter, could that have been the problem?? Anyway, it wasn't a big deal, I just added about 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup sour cream, and all was well with the world. These are really great!!!

Garbanzo Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
I have no idea how this turned out so well. It was incredible. I added some cayenne pepper, it was so great. I have never had a veg dish this good! I always use mushrooms AND onions. This is not only a fav of mine, but everyone who has tried it has loved it. I am not a "veg" person, but this dish is incredible. YOU MUST TRY THIS!!

Cherry Tomatoes Filled with Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
YUM!! This was the best. I wanted to note a cool modification on this recipe. One of my roommates is lactose intolerant (so obviously, he can't have cheese). I bought some tofu and substituted it for the goat cheese in his "stuffed tomatoes". I was a little worried how it would turn out, in fact I told him that if it was "gross" that he didn't have to eat it. I stuffed one tomato for him and had him try it, and he thought it was GREAT. The only change he would make is that next time I should buy the "extra firm" tofu instead of the "firm" tofu. So I was pleasantly surprised that the substitution worked. Thanks for a great recipe. It was easier than I thought it would be!

Caribbean Holiday Shrimp

This was pretty good. But I think I prefer my shrimp hot. But for a "shrimp cocktail" type recipe, it was good.

Fabulous Football Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2001
Yummy! I added chopped onion and some cayenne pepper. I have finally found the perfect thing to serve this on. I didn't care for the way it tasted on crackers, and thought it was only so-so on tortilla chips, but I LOVED the way the dip itself tasted, so I kept searching. Buy 2 cans of crescent roll dough, and instead of rolling it into crescent rolls, seperate it into triangles and bake them flat in the oven. The come out looking like giant corn chips. Serve with this dip, it is incredible!!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2001
This was a big hit at the office. I also omitted the milk and used an Oreo crust. I drizzled chocolate syrup at the bottom of the crust. I only used about 3/4 of the cool whip.

Aloo Phujia

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
This was pretty good, but I had to doctor it up a lot. I doubled all the spices but the salt, but when it was done cooking I had to add salt to it anyway. I also added some butter to this to make it richer. It was good, but not wonderful....Okay, here it is two days after I wrote this review...I had some of this stuff left over and had it for lunch, and it tasted great. I guess the potatos had more time to soak up the spices or something. So I think this is a good "make ahead" dish that tastes better a day or two later.
