Frosting for German Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
delicious, my kids couldn't get enough of the icing, the cake stayed but the icing dissapeared!! I stirred on low for about 30 mins to get it to a nice thick pudding like consistency. I didn't use cornstarch or coconut but added vanilla. If you don't stir for the full time you will get lumps as the egg will curdle. This is a similar method to making pastry cream.

Baklava

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
WOW 10 stars if I could! Just finished baking, poured the cooled sauce on it popped it in the fridge for 10 mins and couldn't resist! soooo good. One of the best recipes hands down, I can't believe it's not in the top 20 on here. Next time I will chop the nuts a bit smaller, add a bit more sauce. Baked at 325. I bake ALOT and this will forever become one of my favourite recipes!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2010
Followed the recipe exactly and they turned out exactly like the picture. I used the end of a lipstick to make my indents into the shortbread balls and the end of a spoon or fork to load the the jelly in. The trick for the jam not to spill is to leave them as little balls then just press in your indent. They will flatten a little while baking. Thanks

Norwegian Potato Klub

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
This is a very similar recipe to Polish pyzy. I cooked and mashed half of the potato first. Grated the rest of the potato's and squeezed out the water into a dish and let it sit for 15 mins. Combine the mashed potato with grated potato, add 1 egg and about 4 Tbls flour. Slowly pour out the water and notice the the potato flour on the bottom of the dish? Scrape that up and add to potato batter. Mix and form into golf balls. Cook 15-20 mins after they have floated to the top.

Orange Charlotte

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
very good fast recipe. I added the mandarins into the acutal cake which added a bit more flavour and texture. I also sprinkled dark chocolate on top (you can also drizzle melted chocolate on) which complimented the flavour really nicely! My husband loved it!

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
This was fantastic! I used fresh tomato onion and garlic. I also added sauteed mushrooms and doubled the spinach. I substituted the flour for about 5 Tbls bread crumbs or so. The bread crumbs thickened the sauce very nicely and added alot of flavour! I will be making this again!
