Mom's Italian Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
I made this soup last night. The first thing I did was dredge the meat in flour and brown. I also sprinkled it with some garlic, salt, pepper seasoning. Then I added everything to the crock pot. Instead of tomato sauce I used my own canned tomatoes, some chunky carrots and celery and a handful of frozen peas. Set the crock pot on high, not low and cooked it for 5 hours. This was the best barley soup we have ever had!!

Leftover Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
I made this pot pie last night. I used cut up chicken, browned it in some olive oil with some Paula Deen's house seasoning. Then I cut it into small pieces. Followed the recipe the rest of the way and it was fabulous!! This will definately be on my "make again" list. My husband ate almost the whole thing!!!

Roxie's Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
I just made these today and they are absolutely fabulous!! I added everything ~ raisins, cranberries, walnuts, apples, bananas. They were very moist and tender. I also added a tsp. of baking powder to make them rise, since other people were suggesting that. These came out wonderful and I will definately make them again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
This is just fantastic!! I used frozen chicken breast tenderloins. I added 1 can each of the cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup. I added everything all at once except for the cream cheese. I thought it needed some more liquid so I added a splash of white wine. Tenderloins cook much faster than breasts and it was done in about 4 hours. I mixed it up with penne pasta and my family gobbled it up! They loved it. I will definately make it again.
