Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2003
Wonderful way to use up turkey. I added a couple of mushrooms and 1/2 cup of peas (reduced potatoes to 2) and it was delicious!

Oatmeal and Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
Delicious! My 21 month old picky-eater ate a entire pancake. I didn't have any sour cream so based on other reviews, I used a cup of buttermilk (1tbsp lemonjuice + 1cup milk) instead. Added a tbsp of sugar and increased baking powder to 1.5 tsp. Oh and a 1/2 tsp of salt and a 1/2 cup of raisins. Definitely a keeper! I used a non-stick fying pan, so didn't need to use any oil either.

Salmon Patties I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
These were great! I added some Seasoning Salt and Cayenne pepper for extra spice and they fried up nice and crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. (I used an electric frying pan set at about 375)

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
If I could give these 6 stars, I would! I've made them each of the last 5 Christmas and they are a huge hit. Last year, I tried some with white chocolate in the middle - they were excellent too, though richer even than the caramel ones.

Bacon Chicken I

I've made this several times when having friends over and it's always a hit - no one believes how easy it is either!

Black Bean Pinwheels

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2004
I'd definitely make these again - they were a hit at our fiesta. I did spread a little chipotle sauce between the cream cheese and the beans (we used canned refried beans too) for extra kick.

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
This was really tasty! My husband isn't normally very enthusiastic about my leftover turkey soup efforts, but he loved this one. The only changes I made were to add some diced potatoes (about 25 mins before it was done) just because I love potatoes and to add the cream when it was done so that it didn't separate.

Antojitos Minis

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2004
I made these for a "mexican-themed" party and they were a huge hit! We just used a pizza cutter to cut each tortilla into 6 triangles, steamed them in the microwave for a minute to soften them up and then put them into a mini-muffin pan - made great looking bite-sized appies.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2002
Excellent cookies! I was out of walnuts, so I substituted with raisens - even chewier and tastier. A big hit in our house.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
Great chicken! But, if you're using a deep fryer, 15 minutes at 350 will do the trick - 365 seems to overbrown the crust.

Sugar-Free Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2003
I made this frosting for a mildly diabetic friend's birthday cake and it was a big hit. There were several requests for the recipe.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
Gave it 5 stars because it turned out great, but I did modify the recipe to suit what I had on hand. I used BBQ'd chicken pieces with sauted green peppers, onions & garlic. Then used Ceasar dressing instead of the mayo & dill. Forgot the almonds too, but it was really good anyway. Oh, and I only had 1 pkg of crescent rolls, so halved the recipe and it was still plenty for the two of us and our mini picky-eaters. Can't wait to make it again - it's a great base for all kinds of combinations.

Roasted Pork Loin

The flavour was wonderful. I marinated it for about 3 hours before cooking and it was really tasty. I will definitely be making this again.

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2001
After reading the other reviews, I made a few adjs to the recipe and the cookies turned out excellent - substituted butter for the shortening, and added about a tbsp of honey (also, baked at 350 for 10 mins). I used creamy pb, but next time I'll try crunchy. Will definitely make this one again!

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2001
I used half Ranch dressing and half sour cream, and I increased the cooking time by 20 mins (based on other reviews). With peppercorn gravy, it was pretty rich & tasty.

Beefy Hash Brown Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Pretty tasty actually and easy to make. I baked the hashbrowns for 30 mins so they were crispy and we didn't have french onions or brown gravy, so sauteed some minced onion with the beef and used mushroom gravy. Oh and I added some seasoning salt to the hashbrown mix before baking.
