Creamy Rice Pudding
In a nutshell, what other rates have advised: cook the rice well before adding the sugar. Mix the half cup of milk with the egg before adding and do it slowly and stirring constantly. Sprinkle some cinnamon and or nutmeg after cooking. I would also add: if you're not going to serve immediately, add more water and more milk in the first two stages or you'll end up with a very dry rice mixture just one hour after taking it from the heat.

Best Brownies
I used half white sugar and half brown only because I ran out of white and the brownies were delicious! I also used less than half the amount of confectioner's sugar for the frosting and I heated it before spreading over the still warm brownies. As per another reviewers advice, I let cool and then cut with a plastic knife. perfect cuts!

Chilean Potato Pie (Pastel de Papas)
I gave it 4 start only because the amount of mashed potatoes is half what it should be. In a sheperd's pie you only need potatoes for the top, but in a pastel de papas you need it for top and bottom, and this was barely enough for a top. A WORD OF WARNING: if you're cooking less than 8 servings, check the amounts you're given! From the 2 tbsp of cheese in the 8-serving recipe, I ended up with 5 CUPS!! for a 4-serving recipe! In Uruguay, neighbour to Argentina and Chile, our pastel de papa doesn't take cheese, but I enjoyd the taste of cheese in this. We skip the eggs too and the result is a more solid mash potatoes, but just as good.
